Hey Merlin, I'm on AXE-16000 so it seems this upgrade should be safe to do given the success rate for that model, but I'm curious if you happen to know what changed in the GPL from last?
Thanks!
I'm on fiber too, and guess what? It's PPPoE over XGS-PON. PPPoE does not equate to DSL or copper. It's simply a protocol stack for transferring data and has NOTHING to do with the medium the data is carried.
Ah, sorry. I got you and @Rhialto's images mixed up. My MIL has the AX-88U Pro; I'll give it a look tomorrow and check the channel list. Sadly, I don't have a good comparison here at my house (AXE16000) and in Canada but here are my lists for 5Ghz.
There is a scroll bar to the right of the dropdown list that looks like it has a fair bit of scroll there, are you sure you don't just need to drag it down?
Looking great. Upgraded from 388.1 stable to 388.2.beta1. Great to see AIMesh loading router graphics again, and I see my tools icon is in too :)
Will update again if I run into any issues.
What you are seeing is correct.
Your computer and other devices are connected to your router. They cannot see the upstream DNS so from their standpoint your gateway is the DNS server. Your router then sets it’s upstream DNS to 1.1.1.1.
Ah it’s a FlexQOS specific recommendation because flowcache negatively affects its ability to control traffic.
what type of pings are you getting with FlexQOS off and FC on? Did you get an improvement to ping with it on?
frankly, I would be surprised because at your connection speed there...
I don’t recall ever seeing disabling flow cache as being a recommendation. Care to point me to that post? Seems strange.
edit: also at 600/600 you probably don’t need any QOS but ymmv
Can confirm as others have stated.
I have the same setup as you with one difference: I am using the 2.5gb WAN for internet and then using a 10gb port on my mesh host to a 10gb on my node.
My node has all 4 1gbps ports populated and it gets full speed.
The node is setup to use ethernet...
Purchased two units with a sale on them at Staples.
Took a fair bit of time getting them both on 388.1 Merlin, but afterwards I was able to set up wired backhaul after a couple tries where it failed.
Been working flawlessly since.
