But in my case I want these settings (guest) to sync, but it doesn't do that. Same as WPS disable. But I understand your reply. Good catch!

I agree that Asus should fix it, but I'm pragmatic and need a workaround. Although I understand that Asus still need to fix some issues and make it lot more stable.

Unfortunately there is still a bug in the new firmware 3.0.0.4.384_20287-g51c2770. After a day and a half my main router (AC-RT88U) started dumping again and all devices lost connection. Attached the log. Before reboot AiMesh was gone in Network Map overview. After reboot everything worked fine...
I updated my RT-AC88U en RT-AC68U both to version 3.0.0.4.384_20287-g51c2770. Now I can change my internal IP, use a SSL certificate and use all the settings I want (and I use a lot of settings). And after a reboot of both routers everyting still works!
The only check that I need to do is...
After six days of stable AiMesh (with just a few basic settings) it stopped working.
When I connect to the Web gui, I don't see AiMesh anymore as an option. This is wat I saw happening in my system log (full log attached):

I tried to set an https certificate in SSH modus. Also broke the connection with the node.
nvram set https_crt_save=1
cat >/etc/key.pem (and pasted my key)
cat >/etc/cert.pem (and pasted my certificate)
service restart_httpd
Now I had a valid certificate.
Rebooted router, node was not found...
Just tested a bit more.
When I start using DDNS with a HTTPS certificate (own or Lets Encrypt), I also lose connection to the node (after a reboot of the main router). After that, only way back is to factory reset. Only disable DDNS client is net enough.
So, changing IP kills it. Using DDNS...
I'm also having al lot of troubles with AiMesh.
Router 1: RT-AC88U (Mesh Router)
Router 2: RT-AC68U (Mesh Node)
Both routers updated to latest firmware. Factory reset both devices.
Configured AC88U, paired with de AC68U. Changed IP range from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.50.x. Rebooted the AC88U and...
