    WPS not working on RT-AC88U

I am having the same issue on a RT-66U B1. I know the risks with WPS. I use it for a few seconds at a time to configure new devices and immediately turn it off afterwards. It's a lot better than typing my 64 random character password on a tiny printer touchscreen.

Can a WD my Book 4 TB be formated to EXT4 or EXT3?

Make sure that you know how Linux names its drives. sda will be your primary internal hard drive. If you have a second hard drive installed, it will be sdb, otherwise your external drive will be sdb. You don't want to wipe out your primary hard drive by mistake. Also, plug in your external HD...

What is the most secure configuration for OpenVPN Server?

I would advise to turn off IPv6 on the client as well. My experience with OpenVPN on a R-N66U was that IPv4 traffic gets routed through the VPN tunnel, while IPv6 traffic skips the VPN altogether and is transmitted "in the clear" to wherever its destination is. Turning off IPv6 on the client...

How to prevent WAN access to FTP

Found a little typo. The echo line is missing the backslash before the dollar sign. The resulting /jffs/scripts/vsftpd.postconf ended up with a line that read "echo "listen address=" >>/etc/vsftpd.conf". Thanks for the script. I needed the FTP server on for my IP cameras and wasn't even...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

Comcast user over here and I can also confirm that this works. Prior to this, I could only get IPv6 by changing the router username to 'admin'.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

If you use VPN to encrypt your communications on a public WiFi hotspot, make sure that you disable IPv6 on your computer first. Using a packet analyzer on my WiFi adapter, I found all IPv4 traffic going through the VPN tunnel, but all IPv6 traffic was still taking the direct route, unencrypted.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

IPv6 Great firmware so far. My iperf speeds went from 70 to 110 Mbps on a RT-N66U. :) Like others, I did lose my IPv6 connectivity though. The logs show this: Jan 20 11:53:32 syslog: module nf_conntrack_ipv6 not found in modules.dep That module is also not found anywhere under...

On Linux, you change the group with chown too. The format is chown [user]:[group] file For example, this would change the owner of foo.txt to Johnny and the group to users: chown johnny:users foo.txt Type "chown --help" to get information about the syntax and options.

secure internet access via VPN not working

I had the same problem whenever I had PPTP and OpenVPN on at the same time. After disabling both OpenVPN servers, PPTP started to work properly.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 is out

This just happened to me while configuring the router. I did a factory reset before and after flashing the new firmware. I was entering the settings following the menu, from top to bottom. As soon as I disabled the Spanning Tree Protocol and hit Apply, the router reset and put me back on step 3...
