BT10 mesh (2 nodes). Google Fiber 3 Gig. MoCA 2.5 backhaul (GoCoax, 2.5 Gbps) between house and barn.
Problem: Barn mesh node: download capped ~270 Mbps, upload hits ~1.5-1.7 Gbps. Main node in house tests fine. Ran at full speed for over a year — issue started ~1-2 months ago.
What I've tried...
My (possibly limited and wrong?) understanding of AFC is that WITHOUT the device is limited to 1 watt (30 dBm). WITH AFC the device is allowed 4 watts (36 dBm). 5Ghz generally uses 4 watts (36 dBm). My experience with the two bands is consistent with these power levels, i.e. 6Ghz is very poor...
New RT-BE92U with updated firmware will not use AI Mesh over Ethernet wired backhaul. Instead it connects on the 2.4Ghz wireless at about 20mb/s instead of the 2.5gb/s directly wired ethernet. The access points are about 200ft apart. I also failed the BT10's to get the AI Mesh working. I'm...
I strongly suspect that the BT10 will not initiate a mesh network until they can communicate wirelessly. I use wired backhaul at a distance where wireless is not possible. When I move the Mesh BT10 close enough to the main BT10, I can get the mesh setup, then move it back to its original...
I tried to update to the latest firmware hoping for improvement. My main BT10 loses wireless connectivity to all devices for 5 to 15 seconds every few minutes. The Mesh node just wont come up (its hard wired). I'm guessing if I keep doing random things for a few hours it will come back up...
I went through a similar process after the most recent firmware. I spend several hours doing a rescue, factory reset, etc, etc. I don't know why or how it eventually worked.
I have two BT10s with ethernet backhaul from one to the other. I can only get the 1G wan port to work on the mesh node. This seems similar to you problem, but I've done less work. I think my problem started with the last firmware update. But I got things to work at 1GBE speeds, and just...
I use a 2.5bge adapter on my Asustor AS3104T with 4 SSDs in a RAID 5 configuration. Sometime in August 2020 a software update improved write speeds to ~200MB/s from ~140MB/s. I tested copying a large file from a fast PC. I wonder if the write speed of the AS4004T improved in RAID 5 also from...
I use an Asustor NAS with 2.5gbe interface with four Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB drives in RAID 5. It works great. If I were to upgrade my NAS, it would be to an Asustor AS4004T for the 10gbe interface.
They nodes are located in the basement and main floor living room. However, I'm not sure how far apart they are on the electric wiring? I suspect they both go about 50 feet to the breaker box, but I really don't have any way to confirm that.
I bought a pair of these after seeing your post. Thanks! My previous powerline products got about 20mbp/s where they were installed. These got between 70mb/s and 100mb/s. Both speed and stability was greatly improved.
