When I install asus merlin on any of my ac68r routers i lose the guest wifi access in the gui only for the 5 ghz portion it is replaced with facebook wifi which i have never used. I have reset, factory reset but nothing seems to fix it I flash stock back and it works fine. this has been doing...
I am able to update to alpha 3 if I use rescue mode for the tmobile modded vs also see people mention of the CFE updated to 1.0.2.9 I have 3 original ac68u and a mod tmobile version and all still have the 1.0.2.0 after the update. I also initialized all of them
This is why the issue needs to be addressed because most wont even know its on. Use pen test tools to test it for yourself or as @Quad80 said to use an app many of them on playstore will show all the security protocols including WPS that are being broadcast from any SSID , you might have to...
Ple
""WPS on" is not meant it's working any time and any where."
clarify how WPS is working then are you saying that it can no longer be attacked because it is ON all the time on the NODE
OK you are right in the sense one is a function and one is a security but:
Krack vulnerability= ability to sniff packets on a single client and we agree it was fixed
WPS vulnerability = ability to sniff entire network NOT FIXED and left ON on node side
IN MY mind these are both security issues
I am using an AC5300 as router and ac68Us as NODES, I am able to disable WPS on router but the WPS remains functional on NODE side . Is WPS still vulnerable?
I was just responding to the responses to my initial question which didn't provide answers to what I asked for. I don't see how that what you are claiming was my intent. I am just trying to get a yes or no answer with some proof that an ac card would be needed to exploit the ac client...
I am assuming you need an ac card that can do packet injection in monitor mode on the same channel as the AC client to exploit the handshake correct me if I am wrong.
I see the ac clients as being on that list of being affected but is that because the clients are backwards compatible which when connected to 2.4 band they can be "kracked" since there are plenty of 2.4 cards that can be put into monitor mode and do packet injection making these clients...
