Ubiquiti AC Pro and AC Lite Access Points Reviewed

I would think that would be no issue. I use a ER-4 as my router, a Unifi Switch, and Orbi's as APs. The only disadvantage is you lose the single pane of glass interface to configure everything, and some unifi statistics. So i end up with a CK plugged into configure the switch (kind of overkill...

    2x2 AC Access Point Roundup

At one time I was going to go the AP route, and even ordered 3 AC-HD's. Then I was like you know what, the orbi does fine, so i sent them back. Maybe one day, I will go AP's but I just don't see the need in my house. Not to mention my wife was a tad upset when she saw how much they were....

Yeah smartqueues enabled on 1 gig fiber connection never saw close to that.

Ubiquiti AC Pro and AC Lite Access Points Reviewed

How the heck did you get that much throughput out of a ERL with QoS? Never heard of anyone getting anything close to that, more like 65-85 mbps tops. The ER-X can do close to what you say you got with QoS on, but the ERL.....nope never seen anyone report that much.

    Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X config help

I'd wait a bit if you are going to get a ubnt product. They have several new routers that are leaving beta and will be available before years end. Faster hardware at a cheaper price. I know the new ER4 is about 50% faster at 50% of the cost of a erpro for instance. the er4 is also fanless so it...

    MicroTik RB750GR3 hEX Router Reviewed

It takes some tinkering, but even a novice can get it doing a lot. I think the issue is, the mikrotik community is just not as helpful (for free) as other communities. Also not as many native English speakers, which makes getting help another barrier.

Ubiquiti called out as a fraud

Ranting of someone who has picked this before and the rantings of apparently someone investors take somewhat serious, so there is that. Not saying it is true, but there are some questionable things he brings up.

Ubiquiti called out as a fraud

I didn't see the other thread, and went to the most logical area to post this. Also we might not be a stock picking forum, but do you really want to buy hardware from a company who could be out of business soon? Trying to put this as simply a stock picking issue is pretty disingenuous. Not...

Ubiquiti called out as a fraud

Yeah I think the biggest hitters are really having no CFO, and some of the other exec shenanigans. I guess we will see soon enough if he has the cash to finish that team buyout. I hope they aren't as they have some products currently being refreshed that I wouldn't mind getting.

Need some expert advice on modem.

It's not that they don't allow third party firmware. It's they don't allow the end user to go back to a recoverable firmware. There is no oh crap that firmware bricked my modem, let me hold this button while I power on to take me back to some clean default firmware. If you are going to give the...

Need some expert advice on modem.

Well I blame the PUMA6 on intel and Arris. The other I blame on all ISPs and all modem manufacturers for not allowing a user to choose another firmware. End result still the same I have wasted $250 on modems. Rent is $3-5 a month so that's like anywhere from 4 to 6 years worth of renting a...

Need some expert advice on modem.

Welp looks like I am screwed according to this: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Routers/Cable-Modem-CM600-stuck-in-IPv6-mode-how-do-I-get-it-reset/td-p/1213242 Anyway, if anyone ever asks me if buying a modem is better than renting a modem, I will happily tell them heck no...
