I would think that would be no issue. I use a ER-4 as my router, a Unifi Switch, and Orbi's as APs. The only disadvantage is you lose the single pane of glass interface to configure everything, and some unifi statistics.So i end up with a CK plugged into configure the switch (kind of overkill...

At one time I was going to go the AP route, and even ordered 3 AC-HD's. Then I was like you know what, the orbi does fine, so i sent them back. Maybe one day, I will go AP's but I just don't see the need in my house. Not to mention my wife was a tad upset when she saw how much they were....

How the heck did you get that much throughput out of a ERL with QoS? Never heard of anyone getting anything close to that, more like 65-85 mbps tops. The ER-X can do close to what you say you got with QoS on, but the ERL.....nope never seen anyone report that much.

I'd wait a bit if you are going to get a ubnt product. They have several new routers that are leaving beta and will be available before years end. Faster hardware at a cheaper price. I know the new ER4 is about 50% faster at 50% of the cost of a erpro for instance. the er4 is also fanless so it...

It takes some tinkering, but even a novice can get it doing a lot. I think the issue is, the mikrotik community is just not as helpful (for free) as other communities. Also not as many native English speakers, which makes getting help another barrier.
