Try using shibby's RT-N branch and see if that works?
Edit: the CFE problem is obsolete. All tomato mod builds (toastman, shibby, and victek) will use 64k NVRAM regardless of CFE on RT-N66u B1 or B2.
If shipping isn't expensive then I guess I'll give warranty a try. And no I'm not using toastman tomato. It's been running victeks tomatoraf for the past 4 months but today all Ethernet (both LAN and WAN) ports failed so definitely a hardware issue.
Unfortunately for me, it was running TomatoRAF when it just randomly died so I can't really send it in for warranty. And without any working LAN ports there's no way for me to flash stock firmware back to it. I believe I'm pretty much screwed.
Today is a sad day. It looks like my router's GigE controller has bit the dust. None of the ports work, all 4 LAN and the WAN no longer respond. Everything else is still functional though. But without a working WAN this thing is now as useful as a brick.
It lasted for 1.5 years and I'm a bit...
The newest K26RT-N build 116 uses BCM 5.110 drivers which is known to have issues. The K26RT-AC build uses BCM 6.30 drivers which is good but reportedly lowers coverage range. If you want to update, then I would suggest you go with build 115 (which still uses the stable BCM 5.100 drivers) under...
I had the same problem with my Chromecast when I first bought it. Just hold the reset button on it for 30 seconds to factory reset the Chromecast and then set it up again using the Android or iOS app. Don't use the desktop app, it doesn't work very well. AP isolation setting is under...
I believe the issue is that you are configuring the PPPoE client on both the 2Wire modem and the Asus router. Only one device should handle PPPoE. The device that handles PPPoE will in turn also handle the NAT router functionality. As I mentioned before, a true bridge mode on the modem will...
I'm not entirely familiar with Bell Canada. Do they still use PPPoE? If not, then I will assume they have an IP-ADSL2/2+ network similar to AT&T here in the States with 802.1x for authentication.
Normally, a DSL modem in bridged mode would allow the 3rd party router to handle PPPoE...
Merlin's firmware adds a few things but its basically the stock Asuswrt firmware. If you want stock but with added stability then Merlin's is definitely rock solid since bug fixes and reliability was the goal for his firmware.
I ran Merlin's builds for quite a while before switching to...
