    I agree it is odd but ...... Yes 68 WAN port to 88 LAN. Direct or thru switch doesn't make a difference.

    I'm using an RT-AC88U as the main router and a RT-AC68U as the node. Tried using the ethernet backhaul feature and either thru a switch or direct when the 68U switches to wired the 88U Wan port disconnects and I no longer have internet.
