After going through the same thing as you, I ended up factory-resetting it and putting in my settings again manually. Not sure if that has any effect on resetting the SQL database as well, but I figured I'd try and was due for factory-resetting after all the "dirty" upgrades I've done over the...
I imagine some people are power cycling their routers when unable to access the GUI after 384->386 as they didn't read the readme. Does the maintenance pick up where it left off if a power cycle interrupted it?
I wonder if that's why some people are getting the "Invalid firmware file" error...
To answer the original poster's question, you can't set a load balance ratio with 0 as one of the numbers. And with Merlin's firmware, the # of static dual wan routes you can set is increased from 32 to 64 (the actual number allowed is under 60...going over that I get no error message but...
Under Dual WAN Load Balancing, I see the maximum number of routing rules should be 64. But if I enter any more than 54 rules, it appears to accept it when I hit Apply, but doesn't actually save any of my rules. Which was a bummer to find out after I manually entered 60 rules. By trial and error...
There is a setting for that, but it is limited to 32 static routes. And any device that isn't assigned a static route would have non-functioning Internet access due to Asus' broken load balancing feature.
This is an interesting idea as I'm looking to achieve the same thing, but does anyone with Asus Dual WAN load balance experience know if a 1:0 ratio is even possible or accepted? I don't think so.
Dual WAN load balancing has been working to allow me to lock devices onto either the Primary or Secondary WAN. But I have to manually set each device in the routing rules, or else the device goes into default 'load balancing' which simply doesn't work right on these Asus routers. I've run up...
Turns out those two settings on both the latest Asus and Merlin firmwares don't do anything to the TTL. TTL stayed exactly the same with the two settings enabled in different combinations. I had to do that custom script in the Youtube video to get TTL to actually change (while leaving those 2...
I did this today and it worked well, thanks for the link. The only glitch was that you actually have to reboot twice after formating the JFFS partition before it's usable.
The video recommends a TTL of 100 for Verizon Wireless hotspots, and I've even seen 117 used elsewhere. I had initially...
Any luck with this? I see that Merlin has added "Extend the TTL value" back into the latest version 384.12:
Re-added option to extend the WAN's TTL (from stock
firmware, was previously disabled as it used to
be broken)
If using TurboQAM on 2.4Ghz, Channel needs to be set to AUTO. Not sure why TurboQAM can't function in N Only mode, but that's what the instructions say.
