    Free radius server

I don't know if the RT-AC86U has an actual radius server built into it or not, that is why I mentioned a AP with one built in. I know my APs have a built in Radius server so I don't need a separate box to do the authentication and authorization

    Can I use 1 switch instead of 2 - Home network (TVs&LAN)

To go with 1 switch, you have to set a place to pull ALL your ethernet drops to, e.g. closet, basement, etc. If that is not possible then 1 switch will not work, you just do what you doing now, have switches tossed around the house. As for routers, lots of choices to make your brain explode and...

Check the list and see if you need updated firmware for your router? or maybe the router just doesn't like the disk enclosure... http://event.asus.com/2009/networks/disksupport/

Confused about which 24/28 port switch to buy

I picked this up for myself https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018IZ9H02/?tag=snbforums-20 Don't understand why it is 5 bills higher than what I paid for it in May 2017, but that is another story. Nice switch, changed out the banshee screaming fans for some more quieter ones, but only using 3...

    Just another speed test result

Would definitely read over your tutorial when you decide to make/publish it. Wanted to go with mikrotik but just didn't want to spend the time learning it just to get a decent router/firewall setup, instead just went with pfsense and that has been constant learning so might have been better off...

    Edimax WAP1750 & CAP1200 Pro APs review

Be aware you are dealing with a n00b here and I can only explain the best way I know how. When I was running the NMS from the AP, I had to put in the MAC addresses of the APs of the managed group in manually, and there documentation tells you NOTHING about this, it was all trial-and-error for...

    Edimax WAP1750 & CAP1200 Pro APs review

n00b here, but I do have the CAP/WAP1750 and the accompanying APC500, and from what I see in the menus, the MAC addresses are your other APs in the manages group, made a screen cap of the page, sorry had to edit out a few things but you can see what I mean hopefully
