I would like @Voxel opinion on Beamforming and MU-MIMO , does it enhance or corrupts the signal? my main aim is a stable far reaching signal more than most possible speed. I can't find a definite answer to this question.
thanks for the reply when you say downgraded to stock firmware you mean stock firmware version 2.5.2.4

Can't believe Netgear quit on us. This is one of the most popular router models out there. I am going to guess they are hoping people will buy their new $1000+ routers. I have a...
hello. I am having trouble with firmware 2.7.5.6 by Netgear with dropping connections. Does the voxel firmware help with stability or is it just to enhance speed?
i'd like to hear from other experiences
Do you use wired or wireless backhaul? How is the stability of the network? I am thinking to upgrading to Asus ZenWifi thinking the grass is greener on the other side but not sure.
I also do not like Netgear's customer support, they really show 0 care. I have a netgear repeater that works...
Mesh system is distributing APs just wirelessly
Mesh system has been great for me and I can reach areas non-reachable before with much higher bandwidth its just the dropping signal
I never understood whats in the "pro" APs like Ruckus and Cisco that makes them 10x the price
Asus is selling these 2 mesh units for a crazy $800+ and I am not sure how its different than the lower priced $400 ZenWifi. They boast it covers a wider area but last time I researched I found out that Wifi power is limited in all cases so each wifi antenna should reach about the same areas and...
-ISP ranges a lot I am on 5G wireless internet home. Anything from 20Mbps to 500Mbps , but usually expect at least 200Mbps . Most of the time it will be 350Mbps + . This is for Wifi , testing from the router admin page (ethernet input) I have seen 850+Mbps
-My home is big and is built with...
-RBK50
-Whats wrong with ASUS ZenWIFI? any "best" mesh routers?
-Orbi's RBK has dedicated 5GHz backhaul but it seems to use both 2.4ghz and 5ghz
-If I could run wires I would have done a long time ago and install unifi access points
-AiMesh is different from the dedicated zenWIFI mesh system...
This is no use. If I put the routers further away from each other they lose bandwidth (due to more obstacles in between) degrading the wifi speed. If I bring them closer together they do not work well.
This beats the purpose of this device which is to strengthen the signal of the wifi network...
are you sure beamforming is ok? I think i tested it once and it gave a gain on 1 client but then totally deprived other clients from the bandwidth.
both MU MIMO and beamforming come disabled by default on Orbi which makes me very wary of it.
