    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.7378

I'm on a RT-AC66U who upgraded from .4180 to .7378 and I noticed the WPS toggled to ON as well after the upgrade. I don't think it's just a .7266 issue. My 2 cents.

Where can I get more detailed system logs in Asus routers?

Excuse my inexperience with Asus routers, but where can I find more detailed system logs routers with factory ASUSWRT firmware? When I go to Advanced Settings>System Log, I see a few services that where restarted when I made some changes, but that's it. I logged out and tried logging in with an...

Arris To Add McAfee Security Platform To Broadband Products

Wonder how this will stack with Norton's version of a "secure" router. As much as I dislike Norton and McAfee, at-least these vendors are trying to tackle the security problems instead of just releasing new hardware every 6 months with bad software. Hope other manufacturers take this into...

Was my router's username and password hacked?

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll keep a close eye in this thread for anything new. I hope you all figure it out soon. Glad to be apart of such an advanced community even as the newb I am.

Was my router's username and password hacked?

I saw something similar by eddiez in the SNB ASUSWRT subforum. Quick question, is this hack/exploit mainly seen in Merlin/non-stock ASUSWRT builds or is there a chance it's in factory firmware also? I'm running the latest 3.0.0.4.380_4180 on an AC66 Just asking so I can be better informed. I'm...

NETGEAR Routers Vulnerable To Weblink-based Exploit

Thought I'd post about this Netgear vulnerability in the forums in case people don't know about it yet. There is no firmware fix, yet. However, there is a temporary solution using the exploit itself to protect the router but it gets reset when the router is rebooted. See CERT VU#582384 at...

Any way to install Plex on an R7000?

Honestly, I wish I knew so I could file bug reports to Netgear. It's true if you keep things locally and disable remote management, surface attack area is minimized. But you're still at risk. The main point of Plex is remote access of media and this is how most people will use it. If you want...

Any way to install Plex on an R7000?

To answer OP: No. There isn't a way to install Plex yet on anything other than Nighthawk X10. I'm not sure, but maybe the Synology RT1900AC can install Plex. I highly doubt it though. In my opinion, installing Plex media server on a router is a huge security risk/nightmare. A router should...

Linksys WRT-3200ACM Rumors - The Big Blue Router hits Wave 2

Avoiding all the marketing BS of the WRT lineup, Linksys' hardware has been pretty decent. But I'm done with Linksys/Belkin and their software. They literally push a few updates when new hardware comes out for crippling bugs and then entirely forget about it. On the other hand, I see Netgear...
