Here is my experience setting up AiMesh using RT AX88 as the master and a RT AC68 as the AiMesh node. Downloaded and upgraded to Merlin's 384.13.0 software or both units. From the main login page you will see the AiMesh button so you can click on it and search for AiMesh compatible nodes. I...
Voxel, I am late to the party as I just picked up a 7800 last week. (I was using a ASUS RT-86u, before that an RT-68U) I just wanted to say Thank you for even making your firmware a possibility to improve on what is already a great product.
I just uploaded the 380.69_2 firmware that I a copy of to the router, the router then rebooted and I was back up and running. If I still had the router I would send you a screen shot.
Try going back one or two ver. of the firmware. I had a similar issue with 384.3 So I ended up going back to 380.69_2 and this resolved my issue. I have since moved on to an RT-AC86U
What IP Subnet did you setup for your LAN? If you don't have a DHCP service setup on the old router then you will need to manually assign ip addresses to the older devices and they will need to all be on the same subnet. (Exmp. 192.168.1.xxx with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0) Same thing goes...
I know that's the tough part. I haven't looked at Bitdefender's email scanner, does it have a folder in your mailbox that shows what emails have been blocked? I would hate to have a legit email get blocked and not know about.
If you have slow connection or older computer you may see some slowest. I use AiProtection and ESET Security and I have not really noticed any slowest. I have seen ESET Security block some pages the AiProtection didn't. For me I like having the double protection. As always YMMV.
I had the same issue on my RT-AC68U after upgrading to 384.3. Like you, I went back 380.69_2 and speed was back to normal. Like you I will just wait for the next update. I really do like Merlin's software and the frequency of the updates.
I am pretty sure on the Merlin firmware the log file will show you what sites or IP addresses are being accessed as well as time. Like I can tell my daughters Roku has a lot of Netflix and Pandora traffic.
