Just want to add in here that I resolved this issue by simply switching DDNS providers to freedns.afraid.org (they offer free DDNS of [yourhostname].mooo.com).
Just want to add another data point for these initial spontaneous factory resets being somehow power-related: After dealing with a spontaneous reset last year (which I concluded was not a result of a storm, but now I'm questioning that), I put the router in question on an old APC UPS (model APC...
I'm encountering the same issue running RT-AC68U 386.12_4 in a double NAT setup (RT-AC68U getting a private IP from the provider's gateway, with DMZ setup on gateway pointing to the RT-AC68U).
It seems to happen each night after a timer outlet does a power off/on to reset the cable modem and...
Yeah, exactly why I'm hesitant to upgrade remotely, but I did also consider that perhaps there's a security issue with the .90SF firmware since it's now over 2 years old, and perhaps that's even what led to the spontaneous factory reset. Based on a separate device log, the internet actually went...
The r7800 is running Voxel firmware v1.0.2.90SF with Kamoj add-on. It's been stable for a couple years as the main router at my parents' house. A few days ago, possibly due to a storm internet went down -- and stayed down despite power cycling the router.
(Edit: a separate device log suggests...
Received an email today from No-IP:
Apologies if this has already been asked, but is it possible to add additional DynDNS providers to the firmware? It looks like service with Dyn.com (only other alternative) is not free.
I had faith that someone smarter than me would think of why I can't access it when we know it's there. :)
That was it! Adding port 8443. HTTP access was disabled - which I've now changed so it won't happen again - and port 443 is reserved for Cloud Disk, which I'm guessing wasn't loading...
Thanks for the reply. It finds it at 192.168.101.2 as well. If I click configure there it attempts to load the webpage, which gives the error "refused to connect" (same as before - should have mentioned that).
Worth adding that I've attempted access on both Linux and now Windows (after running...
I have an RT-N66U running this latest version (V44EA) in AP mode. I remember setting the IP to 192.168.101.2 (router on 101.1), and the primary router shows the N66U at this address. Everything works fine, except ... I can no longer access the admin page at the assigned IP address.
I've tried...
I'm using v5 with V1.0.2.80SF, trying to setup a scheduled reboot with a Cron job from the Kamoj settings menu.
I check #1 "On", in "When" enter "0 4 * * 3" (weekly reboot on Wed), in "Command" enter "reboot", then click OK.
The page refreshes and the #1 line is blank. I'm assuming it's not...
@Voxel I also want to thank you for your great work, and just gave a donation to show my thanks. I wasn't giving negative feedback on the firmware as a whole, just reporting the upload issue I was experiencing to see if others were experiencing it or if there was a setting I needed to tweak -...
My upload speed problems seems to have either been temporary, the result of very specific location (deadspot but only affecting upload?) or interference of some kind. I just did 3 tests and all came close to max ISP bandwidth for down and upload. It did "stutter" on the upload portion of one...
I'm having a problem with slow upload speeds on 5GHz with this firmware (.80SF). Download speed seems fine (150 Mbps out of 220 broadband) considering the router is 2 floors down. Upload speed on 2.4GHz is hitting the close to the broadband cap (11 Mbps) but for some reason on 5GHz it's...
