    In wireless settings I had Enable Smart Connect set to on, changed it to off, and both CPU's dropped to less than 5%. But will keep my eye on USB drive, thanks.

    did the firmware upgrade and rebooted as prompted, but would a reset not wipe back to factory settings and remove merlin ?

    Just flashed the router firmware to merlin, for this particular router, Now I cant log back into it. So I guess it resets the admin account ? Is the default admin with no password ? or asus with no password ?
