Unable to ping local devices after update 3006_102.7_2 on BE92U

As far as I know there's no solution (except going to an old firmware.... but that's probably not advised). So you could turn off 'isolation' on the IOT network, if that's possible and acceptable. Or not use the LAN ports, but some other switch. (This would still, I think, have your LAN...

Unable to ping local devices after update 3006_102.7_2 on BE92U

I guess you have a 'guest network' enabled, with 'device isolation' turned on. (Or any other additional network, with that feature turned on.) If so, you're experiencing this issue: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/be-98-pro-3006-102-5-upgrade-lan-port-issue.95528/post-968450

Solved RT-BE92U LAN communication problem with original firmware

What a load of crap, pardon my Spanish French The LAN ports should not be impacted by settings on a (virtual) WIFI network. If ASUS wants to give users the opportunity to apply 'isolation' to the LAN ports, that should be its own/separate setting.

Solved RT-BE92U LAN communication problem with original firmware

Fully agree. I want to (and should be able to) have e.g. a guest network with isolation, whilst the LAN ports can talk to the... well... LAN  Logged the issue with ASUS as well, while ago.

Solved RT-BE92U LAN communication problem with original firmware

Yeah, good point. Since there were several 'software issues' with the LAN ports, I completely assumed this was just another such thing. I'll look into it a bit further, see if the port is really 'broken' or it's more a 'software glitches' kind of thing.

Solved RT-BE92U LAN communication problem with original firmware

Same here, when I encountered it, took me quite a while... AFAIK it is a 'base ASUS issue'. Assuming you're on the most recent ASUS firmware, then yes: it will (very very likely) also be in Merlin. My understanding is that as long as the issue is present in stock ASUS firmware, the issue will...

Solved RT-BE92U LAN communication problem with original firmware

I guess you have a 'guest network' enabled, with 'device isolation' turned on. (Or any other additional network, with that feature turned on.) This would (should) normally prevent devices connected to the 'guest network' to 'directly talk to each other' (they can only access the Internet), but...

BE98 Guest Network blocks all devices on LAN ports being able to interact

This topic explains the issue (assuming this is what also affects you) https://www.snbforums.com/threads/be-98-pro-3006-102-5-upgrade-lan-port-issue.95528/post-968450

BE 98 Pro 3006.102.5 Upgrade LAN Port Issue

(Now I can switch to Merlin again, I assume the issue is the same there... and that it doesn't show if there's no Guest Network with 'isolation'...)

BE 98 Pro 3006.102.5 Upgrade LAN Port Issue

I reset the RT-BE92U (on Asus 3.0.0.6.102_38962) to factory defaults. That seemed to resolve the issue. LAN ports could now talk to each other and the rest of the local LAN HOWEVER, as soon as I enabled the (WiFi) Guest Network (with 'isolation') the issue returned: LAN ports could no longer...

Done. I'll report back here if anything comes of it.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 is now available

Note on the first "LAN ports not communicating to local LAN" issue: I now also have it after upgrading to an official ASUS firmware... I originally got it after upgrading my RT-BE92U from ASUS 3.0.0.6.102_37563 to MERLIN 3006_102.5_0 Going back to ASUS 3.0.0.6.102_37563 resolved it. Yesterday...

BE 98 Pro 3006.102.5 Upgrade LAN Port Issue

About this issue... "LAN ports can connect to the Internet, but not to other devices on the local LAN" I now also have it after upgrading to an official ASUS firmware... I originally got it after upgrading ASUS 3.0.0.6.102_37563 to MERLIN 3006_102.5_0 Going back to ASUS 3.0.0.6.102_37563...

BE 98 Pro 3006.102.5 Upgrade LAN Port Issue

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the response! (I want my Guest Network to apply AP Isolation, so I'll stay on my reverted 3006.102.4 until a future firmware release doesn't force this 'isolation' onto the LAN ports.)
