    BE98 - reset needed - mesh consequences?

This went quite smoothly, reset button, connect to the router via a laptop, select "Advanced", upload the settings file and restart. And the AiMesh configuration was restored as before :)

    BE98 - reset needed - mesh consequences?

I would say a warm restart (just the button on the top of the start screen. But semantics aside, I have a saved config file from a week ago and the router has been working fine for a week until now. (And I did not do any changes a week ago, just saved a backup.) But does the config file restore...

    BE98 - reset needed - mesh consequences?

Being able to press the restart button in the GUI and subsequently doing just that.

    BE98 - reset needed - mesh consequences?

My mesh was behaving strangely so I did a controlled restart from the web GUI of the BE98 (main node). After the restart the mesh worked fine again but I can't get into the web GUI of the BE98 again. I guess that a factory reset is needed. I do have a fairly recent config file saved but will...

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

I saw GT-BE25000 listed at the ROG site. Looks identical to the RT-BE98 non-pro.

    GT-BE98 WIFI 7

I have noticed that 33570 is not available for online installation in the GUI, should we read something into that? (I did not test the beta-button.)

    GT-BE98 WIFI 7

True, I can only have one AP with Ethernet backhaul given my cabling situation. Both my AXE16000 (upstairs now) and an AX88U in the garage do setup their backhauls on the 5 GHz-2 without me intervening. (The cabled AX82U is in the basement, I am considering replacing it with a BE96 at some point.)

    GT-BE98 WIFI 7

I got my BE98 yesterday. (After some DHCP issues, fixed IPs etc for Home Assistant the setup is now stable. My RT-AX82U works fine with Ethernet backhaul. The other nodes have wireless backhaul (by design).

    GT-BE98 WIFI 7

The only difference I (using the compare function in MS Word) can see is "just" 25 000 bps for the vanilla version compared to 30 000 bps for the Pro ditto

    Force 2.4 GHz for backhaul?

....and all of a sudden an updated version of 388 was available for the AX88U and now things do seem to be stable again :) (3.0.0.4.388_22525-gd35b8fe for the AX88U works fine with 3.0.0.4.388_22237-g9120e16 for AXE16000 - the latter as the main node.)

    Force 2.4 GHz for backhaul?

Is there no way to force 2.4 GHz for (one) backhaul? Before the AXE 16000 I had my AX88U as the main node and an AC2900 as satellite in another building (a garage) about 30 meters away (as well as several other nodes). Now the AXE 16000 is the main node, the AX88U is now in the garage and the...

    GT-AXE16000 Owner's Thread

I had a somewhat similar experience. I hade the 2nd 5 GHz radio disabled (no other node here has 3+ radios) and after the upgrade to 388 alla wireless clients could/would only connect with the AXE16000 (main node). I then re-enabled the 2nd 5 GHZ radio and all clients started to migrate to the...

I tried to schedule allowed access hours for one device, that worked but....at all times and for all devices ;-) Guess I will try again when the next version arrives

Extend network to cover back garden

I would place an AIMesh'ed unit in a window (main buildiig) that is facing the shed. I have this arrangement (for other reasons) and I get DL speed of about 100-200 Mbps maybe 30 m away outdoors with clear sight to the window with the extra router/AP.
