I too just downgraded to 3.0.0.6_102_38962 for the BE92U. I have the BE98 as the main node and 5 other nodes besides the BE92U. The 5 are all different models and they all (including the BE98) work fine with the latest FW - only the BE92U has issues.
I have my BE92U as an AiMesh node and it has the same/similar issue: 2.4 GHz band goes offline about once a day. Started with the 3.0.0.6.102_38979 update. If I disable the 2.4 radio in the mesh-config it restarts and then I can re-enable it (without a restart).
Edit: Ethernet 10 Gbps backhaul...
Some rearranging later I can now say that it does seem to be a firmware combo issue.
I moved the BE88U to the basement where I have Ethernet backhaul and there 5 GHz works as it should.
I moved my old AX88U (also with detachable antennas) to the garage and it does not have any issues with 5 GHz...
1) Yes.
2) Yes.
3) Well, the mod is only that I have unscrewed one antenna (the left one) and connected the cable from the external anrenna.
Three nodes are inside, One in a small guesthouse, One in the garage and one in a small shed to cover the patio (and usually off this time of year). The...
I have a BE98 as the main node with five AiMesh nodes, one with Ethernet backhaul, the others with RF backhaul. Four nodes are AX and the fifth (and newest) is a BE88U in the garage.
The reason I chose it is that I can use an external antenna (the garage is covered in sheetmetal). It connects...
Both the non Pro and the Pro BE98 has new firmware as of Nov 5, Very similar version numbering but fixes different things. I plan to upgrade my non Pro tomorrow.
BE98 non Pro: 3.0.0.6.102_36855 - https://rog.asus.com/networking/rog-rapture-gt-be98-model/helpdesk_bios/
BE98 Pro: 3.0.0.6.102_34508...
No, it turned out that a cheap UPS (CyberPower - avoid) was slowly breaking down and somehow loaded down the BE88U via the RJ-45 that ran through the protection port on the UPS to a backup NAS. The wired network speed to the UPS was down to 100 Mbps before the UPS went down completely.
With the...
Could it be that the new FW for BE98, in effect, breaks 5 GHz on WiFi7 nodes in the AiMesh? All my other nodes runs fine on 5 GHz but they are all WiFi6 or WiFi6E.
I have two issues with my BE98:
1) SSIDs show up in hex in the admin interface for my AXE1600 node and my BE88U node
2) 5 GHz is disabled in the BE88U node
Otherwise it is working fine, no speed issues at all.
The AXE1600 works fine but it recently got an update (Sept 27) to 3.0.0.4.388_24374...
