AC66U crashes and reboots itself when Android phone connects to its Wifi
Hadn't hear that phrase before, but it's a good one. I bypassed the wizard and did a minimal AP config on an L-branch firmware (Firmware:374.43_2-38L4j9527). It's only been an hour, but the N66u now appears to be tolerating connections from the phone. Thanks for the prod!- dsjstc

I started seeing this behaviour when I upgraded my phone to an LG G7, Android 8.0. It applied to an AC66u and an N66u, on stock, main branch Merlin, and John's fork. It seems to happen in both router and AP modes, although AP is my main mission. I eventually got the AC66u working acceptably...- dsjstc

Is this a bug on Asus firmware? WAN disconnections
I've had (what I now assume to be) this issue periodically on Shaw Cable (BC, Canada) with an AC66U for months. Aafter upgrading to Merlin's 380.57, I started fully losing WAN after the 15 minute lease expired. THe problem persisted through multiple factory resets of the router and modem...- dsjstc

Writethrough SSD cache?
Basically I'm looking for a higher-risk, higher-performance version of the Drobo 5N. It doesn't seem too much to ask for a 2-disk or 4-disk home NAS that gets most of its performance with writethrough caching of HD access through a modestly sized SSD.
