    Troubles w/Rosewill RNX-N300RT As Wifi/Ethernet Bridge

Thanks to all. I agree that it IS OLD. But it has seen very little use. Funny that it seems to work just fine as a plain, old router. I like to try and keep stuff outta the landfill. But this may be a case where I cannot...

    Troubles w/Rosewill RNX-N300RT As Wifi/Ethernet Bridge

Hello and thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this... I need to replace the old Asus RTN-10 that I have been running w/Tomato as my Wifi/Ethernet Bridge because it is sometimes acting funky... I have an old but far less used Rosewill RNX-N300RT on which I have installed DD-WRT...

How To Block/Unblock Internet Access For A Single Device/IP via Command Line on AsusWRT?

Thanks again for suggested using parental controls. I had never looked at it before. It seems that when I block a device's access completely to the internet via the network map UI, it is turning this on AND blacking using that mechanism. I never realized it before because I never looked (foolish...

How To Block/Unblock Internet Access For A Single Device/IP via Command Line on AsusWRT?

Thanks for mentioning this. I now realize that when I block a device's internet access via the network map UI, it is doing something with these. I thought them completely separate! As I look at it, this MIGHT help. The mechanism seems oriented to a weekly schedule and I was hoping for a monthly...

How To Block/Unblock Internet Access For A Single Device/IP via Command Line on AsusWRT?

Hello. I have an Asus GS-AX3000 and connected to it I have a device that insists upon having an internet connection (don't know why) about every 30 days. If it does not, it simply stops functioning and starts beeping all the time. Otherwise, I have no reason at all to allow this device to have...

Entware ntpd on Stock Firmware for GS-AX3000?

Thanks once again. On my router, the ntp binary is located in /sbin and is symlinked to /sbin/rc. Executing ntp in any way seems to yield nothing. I have checked the busybox and found it is installed in /bin and is version 1.24.1 but ntp is not in its list of currently defined functions. So I...

Thanks. I was not even aware to chrony. Will look into it more. Cheers

Entware ntpd on Stock Firmware for GS-AX3000?

Hello and thanks in advance for any help offered... I have a GS-AX3000 running stock AsusWrt. I have managed to install/run some Entware utilities on the USB drive stuck in the router - especially tcpdump but also less, netstat, and I execute a script in /jffs/scripts via the nvram variable...

Could GS-AX3000 NOT be passing UDP to Internet?

Thanks. The fixed memory leak might be a good thing. I was having issues with this firmware as powering off a wired, connected device (say my TV) would cause crashes and that MIGHT have been caused by a memory leak. But rebooting nightly has all but eliminated that issue. Cheers

Could GS-AX3000 NOT be passing UDP to Internet?

My GS-AX3000 is on 3.0.0.4.386_43588 and I know this is not up-to-date but I see no compelling reason to update and risk an otherwise working system at this time. I have a large number of wifi-enabled thermometers that operate by sending UDP messages to an internet server containing the current...

Cannot Post To Asus ROG Forums - Captcha

Anyone know what is happening with this? I cannot post at all to the Asus ROG Router Forum. It seems there is a Captcha issue. Instead of the usual, it reads "ERROR for site owner: Invalid domain for site key"

Questions About Moving to 3.0.0.4.388.23012 on GS-AX3000?

I have been waiting for an update for this router of mine that will fix a problem I have discussed here. From what I see in the release notes: (a) I am not at all convinced that this problem has even been addressed and (b) I see a TON of other stuff that seems quite new an different - and...

GS-AX3000 Crashes When Connected Device Looses Power

Thanks. I sure would never have considered this. Interestingly, both TV and Router plug into the same UPS.

GS-AX3000 Crashes When Connected Device Looses Power

It was too good to last! Even using a marked, cat 5e cable the router crashed again when I turned the TV off last night. I had not noticed any crashes in at least 2 weeks so I had hoped I had this licked. Looking at the crashlog, it is the same thing: null pointer at the same address. So I guess...
