Prevent specific wifi connections to RT-AC1750 B1 when operating as a repeater in ASUS-WRT?

I continue to try and wrangle my WLAN to conform to my will and it remains difficult :-( My main router is an Asus GS-AX3000 and I have an RT-AC1750 B1 running as a repeater. Both use standard ASUS-WRT for now. It is interesting as devices that are connected to the wifi of the repeater are...

How Can Wifi Devices Connect to a Router NOT Broadcasting SSID?

I guess I should have looked more first... I googled a bit and found: WiFi clients can connect to an access point that doesn't broadcast its SSID by manually adding the network's name (SSID), security type, and password in the device's settings. The client must then initiate a connection, often...

How Can Wifi Devices Connect to a Router NOT Broadcasting SSID?

Thanks, I will try that. It seems like I need both receive and transmit for the bridge to work and ethernet connected clients to actually get anything done. But I am not very well informed...

How Can Wifi Devices Connect to a Router NOT Broadcasting SSID?

I have an old Asus RT-N10+ on which I run DD-WRT acting as a Repeater Bridge so that a couple devices in one area of my house can use Ethernet as they have no wifi ability. It seems that in this configuration, the repeater bridge still has its wifi radio ON - surely it has to do so in order to...

    Asus RT-AC1750 B1 Stops Transmitting 5Ghz Wifi

Thanks. It is looking that way :-(

    Asus RT-AC1750 B1 Stops Transmitting 5Ghz Wifi

That is interesting as well. I will have him try it. It does seem that the router is having a severe hardware problem - although 2.4Ghz is working just fine. I handed my buddy the router after it was handed to me from another buddy. I have no idea about its history. It might have been surplused...

    Asus RT-AC1750 B1 Stops Transmitting 5Ghz Wifi

I did try changing to 36 from 153 and that made no difference to the phone right in the same room (where it used to work on 153 just fine). Sadly, I am not there or could try the wifi analyzer on my phone. My friend is not too technical. Best

    Asus RT-AC1750 B1 Stops Transmitting 5Ghz Wifi

Well, that helps me understand this a bit. I definitely see the 5Ghz reported in the wifi log: SSID: "0016014C2FXX-5G" noise: -92 dBm Channel: 153 BSSID: D0:17:C2:58:62:XX Capability: ESS RRM Supported Rates: [ 6(b) 9 12(b) 18 24(b) 36 48 54 ] VHT Capable: Chanspec: 5GHz channel 153...

    Asus RT-AC1750 B1 Stops Transmitting 5Ghz Wifi

I am not sure. I definitely see the 2.4Ghz. So maybe not in there. I am supposing it might be a hardware failure of some sort. It just seems so odd that it should happen so suddenly and that the 2.4Ghz is fine. Thanks

    Asus RT-AC1750 B1 Stops Transmitting 5Ghz Wifi

I have had an Asus RT-AC1750 B1 on standard AsusWRT 3.0.0.4.386_51733 running at a friend's house for many months now. Until last night it has been working quite well and devices connected to both 2.4 and 5Ghz without troubles. I have no idea what happened but suddenly there was a loss of all...

GS-AX3000 "semi-forgets" some wifi devices after reboot

I have 14 devices on the 2.4Ghz wifi, 3 on 5Ghz, and 4 wired connections. All of these devices have manually assigned IPs. I have many identical devices in the 14 that are on the 2.4Ghz wifi. I reboot the router every night at 4:30AM via the basic, admin configuration. After the reboot, all of...

Manually Assigned IP Address Not Respected for Repeater

After all this mystery, I spent a bunch of time yesterday trying to "fix" this. I decided to try to migrate from the stock Asus RT-N10+ B1 firmware to DD-WRT. This went fine at first but somewhere along the line in trying to configure as either a station-bridge or client-bridge, things went off...

Manually Assigned IP Address Not Respected for Repeater

Hello. My main router is an Asus GS-AX3000. I have recently added an old Asus RT-N10+ configured as a repeater for the 2.4Ghz signal. I try to keep statically assigned IP for all the devices on my LAN and when I added the repeater, I specified the RT-N10+'s 2 interfaces as shown on the...

    Troubles w/Rosewill RNX-N300RT As Wifi/Ethernet Bridge

Thanks to all. I agree that it IS OLD. But it has seen very little use. Funny that it seems to work just fine as a plain, old router. I like to try and keep stuff outta the landfill. But this may be a case where I cannot...

    Troubles w/Rosewill RNX-N300RT As Wifi/Ethernet Bridge

Hello and thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this... I need to replace the old Asus RTN-10 that I have been running w/Tomato as my Wifi/Ethernet Bridge because it is sometimes acting funky... I have an old but far less used Rosewill RNX-N300RT on which I have installed DD-WRT...
