ASUS RT-AC3100, Can't connect to office VPN

Problem solved! Sort of. But yeah, it's not me. :D Turns out it is not my router or any configuration on the router itself that I have. It appears the VPN server is rejecting connections from my external IP. I think. I noticed when I connected the AC68U that my ISP assigned it a different IP...

ASUS RT-AC3100, Can't connect to office VPN

    >The following may also help get your router to a good/known state too. >https://www.snbforums.com/threads/ax88-packet-loss.62891/#post-563326 I got around to trying this, reset it as described. Only changes made: set router login credentials, set up WiFi SSID and security, set DHCP Server for...

ASUS RT-AC3100, Can't connect to office VPN

    > From scratch means minimally and manually, correct? :) No saved backup config file used? Yes, manually reconfigured. Not restored from a backup config. Good clarification to be made. > What features and customizations are you doing to the router? Did you try reflashing the same firmware...

ASUS RT-AC3100, Can't connect to office VPN

Hi all, My wife uses the Microsoft VPN Client to connect to her office's VPN and it was working fine until a few days ago. A few days ago I did update my router's firmware to Merlin's latest stable 384.16. I did not do a factory reset at that time. Last night, however, I did a full factory...

[RT-AC3100] IPTV Killing Internet (Was: Running Hot)

Thanks for the input. With the cooler the temps were nice and low (< 40C for wifi, < 60C for CPU) but it would still crap out as soon as a STB was turned on. The temperature on the router seems to only go up when it was doing IPTV work. Without any STB active, the temps stayed decent even...

[RT-AC3100] IPTV Killing Internet (Was: Running Hot)

@messerchmidt Yeah, I got a laptop cooler as well. But it wasn't due to the temperature (as I though it might be and others said not to be concerned with). Once disable IPTV from my AC3100 and have the STB running off the ActionTec 1200H, all is good. I'm just at a loss why with the N66U IPTV...

[RT-AC3100] IPTV Killing Internet (Was: Running Hot)

Updated original post with new information, seems it is IPTV related. Not heat, like some told me not to be concerned about (they were correct). :)

@doczenith1 What firmware and version are you running on your AC3100? Thanks.

[RT-AC3100] IPTV Killing Internet (Was: Running Hot)

@doczenith1 Thanks for the info. Yeah my router is hitting those temperatures but then the wifi connections begin performing poorly and even wired performance starts going down. And the CPU cores are running under 2% when I have temperatures that high. If yours is performing properly at...

[RT-AC3100] IPTV Killing Internet (Was: Running Hot)

The ambient room temperature sits at 22-23C, not much fluctuation throughout the year.

[RT-AC3100] IPTV Killing Internet (Was: Running Hot)

Thanks for the reply. Neither CPU is pegged at 100%, cores are sitting b/w 0-2% as I type this and am streaming on twitch :)

[RT-AC3100] IPTV Killing Internet (Was: Running Hot)

UPDATE (February 9, 2017) I previously thought/was concerned that my AC3100 might have been running too hot and causing Wifi and even wired LAN woes. However, turns out it's not... Thanks to everyone for your input and sorry I haven't checked back sooner, I haven't been receiving...
