Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

just got my ax86u and currently used as aimesh node (41535). Main router is ac88u also on 41535. The 2.5g port on the ax86 stopped functioning as a lan port (not even at 1g speed). My current connection: ont/modem ---> ac88u ---> 1g switch ---> wan port of ax86u ----> 2.5g port of ax86u ---> 1g...

Getting drops sporadically on RT-AX86u wired.

Same thing here. AX86u on 386.41535 as a aimesh node. 2.5g port ----> gigabyte switch ---> PC / NAS (with fixed IP). The PC and NAS would disconnects after a few minutes. I think the 2.5g port is broken with the new firmware. Have 0 issue with the 1g ports.

    Should I keep my AX86u

I've heard you could directly flash ax88u firmware onto the tp-link ax6000 (in china it's xdr6060)

Just to confirm does your problem only happen when there are more than one nodes in your network? I don't have this issue with only one node.

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

my understanding is wifi backhaul will not completely take the whole channel. It will occupy part of the channel. The "ethernet backhaul mode" is for (dual band or tri-band) router to avoid the backhaul to take over bandwidth of wifi channels. I think this mode benefit dual band router more as...

that's sound about right. thanks for the summary. I'm using the ethernet backhaul mode and everything works except the error message. I agree that this function(choose b/w ethernet or wifi mode) should not exist as the ethernet backhaul is always better than the wifi backhaul

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

I'm using some basic tplink unmanaged switch. The node connects but it's just not showing connected in the GUI for the "uplink" connection(see my screenshot). everything works fine(phones/computers/iots connect without issue). what is an uplink connection by the way?

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

For me everything works (at least so far). Got internet for devices connected to both the main router and the node. It's just the warning message of "can't connect to the uplink device" made me nuts. I mean if I it can't connect to the uplink router, then it should not work at all?

I have the same issue, I'm not sure about difference b/w "uplink" vs "backhual". can they share the same Ethernet cable?

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Hi folks I just flashed the newest version: 9.0.0.4.386.40577 for both my AC88U and AC3100. Setting them up in AiMesh 2.0. I'm seeing the message: Your AiMesh node cannot connect to your uplink AiMesh device. What does this message even mean? My understanding is that this means the mesh...
