PrivateJoker - I appreciate the detailed response. You are correct that OS X 10.8.5 was supposed to have some improvements to the wireless capabilities on the MBAs. I'll have to review the links you included, but simply changing the bandwidth to 20 MHz now has inSSIDer reporting a max rate...- enewbauer

Low Throughput on 2.4 MHz
Channel bandwidth on 2.4GHz is 40 MHz (on 5GHz it's 20/40/80 MHz) This is with my MacBook Air Mid 2012 version. It's an AirPort Extreme type, which is a Broadcom BCM43xx card. It supports a/b/g/n. Let me know if this didn't answer the question, though...- enewbauer

Low Throughput on 2.4 MHz
Hi - I am running 3.0.0.4.374.32 on my AC66U. The throughput on 2.4GHz seems to be capped at 75 Mbps. The 5GHz frequency pulls 450, but regardless where I am in my home, the 2.4GHz caps at 75. inSSIDer shows my neighbors' networks at 300, 130, 144, etc. I would think mine should be higher...- enewbauer
