    LAN Jitter?

Not any longer. I was having issues with dropped clients and packets, but all is seems good now that I've manually set it back up.

    LAN Jitter?

I left MTU at 1500 bytes as pings (direct from router or other device through cable modem) are fragmented above 1472. Hardware is a pair of RT-AC86U with Merlin 386.2_2. I run ConnMon for within LAN health monitoring and SpdMerlin for internet connectivity health monitoring. In that...

    LAN Jitter?

Scripts are SkyNet, SpdMerlin, and ConnMon; the real CPU-hog is OpenVPN client for certain devices. I'm not real concerned about QoS, as ping where I live is going to be crummy, but I rarely fully utilize the internet download bandwidth; upload is another story. My concern is purely within-LAN...

    LAN Jitter?

Re-flashed to Merlin 386.2_2 reset and manually reset everything up and now the within-LAN ping is generally <1ms again with occassional bumps into the single-digits when heavy openvpn traffic is occurring. Watching the ping go up whenever both cores get utilized heavily makes me think I need a...

    LAN Jitter?

I started getting significant LAN jitter and occasional dropped packets with my AC86U today. Looking for ideas on what could be the cause before I start flashing firmware and other disruptions. I have a AC86U as router, and another AC86U in AP mode (not AI Mesh), both are running 386.2_2 Merlin...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

RT-AC86U dirty update 386.2 to 386.2_2; discovered that the Client VPN had disconnected and it was still routing despite "Block routed clients if tunnel goes down" being checked. Tested the blocking by manually turning off the Client VPN and found that it no longer stops traffic.

    Asus AX58U wifi 6 speeds

That is what you would expect for 2x2 MIMO devices, whether AC or AX, they are going to max out at about 600 Mbps. The RT-AX58U is 2x2, and most likely all of your clients are as well.

After 384.9 update internet shows disconnected....

Setting "Network Monitoring" (Administration>System) to DNS Query fixed this for me on RT-AC86U 384.10. I have one single client routed through a OpenVPN client (AirVPN), with the router is exposed directly to the internet. I verified VPN routing as intended with "curl ifconfig.co" on the router...
