I am not sure whether sharing the same channel is an advantage, since this restricts the bandwidth. Roaming Protokolle, should be supported in most implementations of AP SW. Honestly, I am not yet sure regarding the benefit of a wired mesh!

Thank you for the quick response. How/why a better WiFi service overall, this is exactly the question, e.g. does the root and note share the same channel? Does the roaming in a mesh configuration works better? The reason behind this is, if one has cables why use mesh instead of independent AP's?

From a fundamental point of view, if we take two units, one as AP (connected to the ISP router) and the other as a node with Ethernet backhaul, is Mesh 2.0 equivalent to two AP's but offers central management? In other words, why should one choose a mesh (of two) over (two) AP's? Thanks

on ZenWiFi XT8 (router and node): Encountered random reboots from time to time; connection unstable! I am back to rc2-4; faster and much more stable!

Now I see them, sorry! The Tx and Rx rates are very low; I have 1441.2 Mbps for both, increase some time but never below that!

I'm not sure; the solid Green LED stayed for about two hours on the Router unit only, while white on the other mesh unit. After these two hours, the LED on the Router also turned white!

I have asked the people in the forum about the meaning of solid green LED but it seems that nobody knows!
