    Questions about NextDNS on AX88U

Hi folks. I opted for 1 year subscription for NextDNS today and installed CLI on Asus AX88U router today. Two questions: 1. It seems to be running great that I can see my devices in logs and analytics on the dashboard at nextdns.io web. However, although it is installed through CLI, I cannot...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Thank you. I can confirm that the previously reported: OpenVPN "Apply" button not working with 384.8 is resolved with this new 384.8_2. Thanks again for the update. Your work is greatly appreciated.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Updated from 384.6 to 384.8 for my AC88U. After updating firmware, I also did NVRAM clear (by holding WPS button for 20-30 sec when powering on to completely reset the router) I confirm that under VPN Server setting (OpenVPN), "Apply" button does not work. Full English language here.

[RT68U] - Bridge Mode enabled (5GHz) , still SSID ASUS on 2.4GHz (unencrypted)

For the record, here’s an update. The culprit was wireless MAC filter. I always use WPA2(AES) encryption with wireless MAC filter for added security. That’s how my main router AC88U is configured. With AC68U switching to Media Bridge Mode from default Router Mode, if wireless MAC filter is...

[RT68U] - Bridge Mode enabled (5GHz) , still SSID ASUS on 2.4GHz (unencrypted)

I cannot believe this is still an issue in 2018. I’m using AC88U as a main router and today, I’m trying to configure AC68U as a media bridge and by default, AC68U broadcasts factory default SSID (2.4 and 5)! Crazy. So, I tried to configure in router mode so that I can change SSID, disable...

Do you guys use Firewall ?

Understood. I will also enable to AiProtection and see. As for the QoS, I have it disabled. FWIW, I'm using a 1Gbps FTTH (WAN) at home, RT-AC88U serving 1 Synology NAS (wired), 4 desktop PCs (wired), 2 laptops (wireless), TV (wired) and several mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Do you guys use Firewall ?

Trentors, thanks for the post and link. I will read it shortly. I guess, perhaps, it's my OCD. I tend to disable whichever features (and/or services in Windows) that I don't use. Every device has finite computing resources. By disabling or turning off features that I don't think necessary...

Do you guys use Firewall ?

Thanks, guys. I was always under impression that NAT is safe enough (in other words, firewall is not necessary) for average home users. Hence, I never used it with previous AC68U (with Asus AiProrection disabled, too). Heck, I’ve always disabled Windows Firewall since it was introduced back in...

Do you guys use Firewall ?

Hi folks. I've recently replaced RT-AC68U with RT-AC88U and been happy with increased Wi-Fi coverage. So far, I have had Firewall and AiProtection disabled on Asus routers and wondering if you gurus use those security features within Asus routers ?
