    R9000 to RAX200 - Backed up R9000 settings.

Since day one of routers I have always been told directly and read articles or saw in posts from Gurus, that you shouldn't (some said "DON'T") even use "Back-ups" to restore the device they came off of. The possibility of corrupt info that was corrupt on before the back-up or caused by the...

Strange IPv6 address as main DNS connected to my Orbi

The World has run out of IPv4 Addresses earlier than expected, IPv4 is overcrowded and slow. IPv6 is fast, the World is moving to it, I have been using it for internal networking for long while and it has meshed over to Internet access nicely, have it running very well on my RBK853 and it has...

Strange IPv6 address as main DNS connected to my Orbi

I get that when I have IPv6 & 4 both enabled on the Router. For some reason, and I think it's because there's usually only one address for IPv6 and that gets listed first as a single point of resolution. The Router IP is showing second since you probably have two DNSs listed for IPv4, as I do...

Members of the IEEE committee developing the new wireless LAN standard now expect the final 802.11ax release date won't arrive until mid- to late-2020. Here's what has to happen first. Many networking pros are eagerly awaiting the new high-efficiency wireless standard, which promises to...

    R7800 constant blinking Internet LED

I had a router that you could turn the "Flashing" lights to solid via the UI and it had a physical switch to turn the lights off. Personally, I like the flashing, I have caught unauthorized traffic on my network because of them. Also I grew up in the age of retail routers and they all flash!!

    Rebooting: Power cycle vs. switch

I just put my ONT and Router a dual outlet digital timer. I was under the impression that it was a dual control unit that I could have had each unit operated individually. The description was written poorly. So every Sunday morning at 6am both go off, then at 6:15 both go back on. I know that...

5 Things To Know Before You Buy A Draft 11ax Router

AX is the next big magic word that means nothing. It's a distraction to keep us from talking about 5G and an attempt to save WiFi from going the way of the Dinosaurs . . . I went from AX back to AC and it made a major difference. Just like asked above how come Draft 2.0 was a wreck and 3.0 was...

    RT-AC68U - Macbook Pro (Late 2013) 5GHZ AC - dropouts (With Tests)

It's not Mvrx that has the WiFi issues, but the Macbook Pro line since 2007. Although, Mrvx may trigger the problem if never seen before. There are Apple User threads with over a million views and several hundreds thousand replies that have been running for years. But Apple has yet to...
