Release ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36382 (2025/03/12)

It might happen right? AXE16000 last non-beta firmware was also around 2024/11, similar to ET12. Figure crossed !

Release ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36382 (2025/03/12)

Asus is doing a good job retaining customers. I lost count of how many ROG routers I've bought and sold over the years

    Asus DFS algorithm

Thanks OE ! That's what I'm settling on for now Planning to keep it auto for a few days and try the fixed non-dfs control channel.

    Asus DFS algorithm

Oh, I was able to get to that. Just not "Auto" next to "Control Channel". FWIW, I tried setting it to the same channel as my neighbor and it does result in neighbor's AP moving away from my fixed channel. But it doesn't resolve my DFS problems. Just a few hours ago my router went back to 80MHz.

    Asus DFS algorithm

No dice, tried multiple ways / intermediate saves etc all end up with the DFS control preselected if channel width selection is only 160mhz. Anyway I'm moving on for now with leaving it auto and let it drop to 80 and stay there. In the past week DFS hits almost every other day.

    Asus DFS algorithm

Thanks, I saw that when searching for this issue. I've been running merlin on my previous routers but haven't flashed AX11000 pro. I'm also not sure about interrupting wifi whenever the script kicks in and get an angry call from my wife. I will do what I can tweaking the configuration but if...

    Asus DFS algorithm

Sounds good. Based on earlier post I already turned off DFS control channel check box. But unfortunately the interface does not allow 160 + auto control + no DFS: Current: If I select 160 only, the DFS is preselected I could fix it on 44 though: Which is better? May be I should leave...

    Asus DFS algorithm

FWIW - Here's what I have for the nearby APs . "phobos" is my network and the CH173 is the backhaul. The AP starting with a "B" is the neighbor - about 6meters away but I think the app is under estimating it. But regardless I think -60dBm is considered "good" This is just after a radar...

AX11000 pro router with AXE mesh nodes

Yea .. looks like I'm going to stick with AX11000 pro for a while for the 5.9GHz backhaul which weirdly fits my bill - it's has higher penetration than 6GHz and is not crowded at all. May be I will look into wifi 7 in several years.

    Asus DFS algorithm

Oh, I thought I have to check the DFS box for router to use *any* DFS channels. You meant it's only for placing control channel on DFS channels? Everywhere I read on enabling DFS channels mention checking the box. But regardless I know most of my clients (laptops and phones) can connect to...

    Asus DFS algorithm

Got it, I guess the firmware also wants to reduce interruptions as much as possible. So switching back to 160 and disrupting connections might annoy more general users.

AX11000 pro router with AXE mesh nodes

I have a dual AX11000 pro setup that's working fine especially with the backhaul on UNII4 channels (5.9 GHz , 160MHz with no DFS). There was a post here a while ago regarding someone wanting to add Wifi6e mesh node to a Wifi6 system to extend the network to 6GHz. I happen to have an Asus ET12...
