    AGH DNS Director problem

Apologies for quoting it out of the blue. You have a couple really well detailed posts about getting AGH working which I was trying to follow the past few days, however it appears with a new firmware, some of the information may need to be updated. For example in your post, you reference...

    AGH DNS Director problem

I have a couple Roku's in the house and according to a couple posts it was recommended here: Link Thoughts? Needed? Not? If not i can remove it. Otherwise, should it point to the router or the AGH? Thanks again.

    AGH DNS Director problem

I home I am not becoming a pest, but I wanted to follow up on a last item. As part of the previous instructions, an entry was made to the Route to redirect both 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to 192.168.50.1 (router). In the past with DNS Director we were routing everything to the router. As now we are...

    AGH DNS Director problem

One last question if you don’t mind. I migrated all the devices on the Guest Network to the one on a different subnet. Back to settling up AGH, I have the global redirection set to the user 1 (AGH server). Previous I saw most advised to set the redirection to the Router. In the Router LAN DNS...

    AGH DNS Director problem

GTAX6000 Firmware 3006.102.4 I just updated two things just FYI, I updated the LAN DNS to my AGH - 192.168.50.184 I also updated my three guest networks (only one is really used) to redirect to the user 1 custom (AGH) Now it appears the DNS director was working as it would show the ip...

    AGH DNS Director problem

To follow up, I went ahead and tried testing of the DNS Director where the AGH server address was entered as Custom Entry 1 so everything should be routed through the AGH dns server: The AGH server is set to no redirection to try and expose it to external DNS servers to avoid a loopback. I...

    AGH DNS Director problem

Previously I had the AGH server set in the LAN DNS as I wanted to route all internal DNS queries to the AGH instance. Then in DNS Director, I had the AGH server set to No Redirection as I thought that would get its DNS from what is in the WAN setting. Am i mistaken? This post from @bennor...

    AGH DNS Director problem

So I thought I had this solved, but apparently not lol. Curious your take as you seem incredibly knowledgeable on the subject. We had a storm over the weekend and the server running AGH lost power, so in the interim, i updated the LAN DNS settings, and now have spent a day and a half trying to...

    AGH DNS Director problem

Sure thing, apologies, i posted this initially in the Merlin thread, and someone moved to its own thread as to not derail his thread (i would assume). I think the tag simply stayed with it. I went ahead and removed it and updated it to Solved to hopefully clarify things.

    AGH DNS Director problem

I think I may have resolved it by following the instructions of a few others on her, rather than trying to recreate a different setup. It was showing activity in the AGH query logs when i specified that server in the nslookup, but when not specifying anything, it was pulling from the...

    Experiences in Roku vs. Ad-blocking

I think I actually ended up fixing this last night playing around. I followed the instructions from one of the previous directions. My mistake was in the route i was pointing the 8.8.8.8 to the AGH server on the network, rather than pointing it back to the router. Once I setup the router to...

    Experiences in Roku vs. Ad-blocking

Sorry for ressurecting an old thread but I tried doing something similar to a Roku in my office. It appears the static route I setup blocked those DNS ports, but as a result, the Roku states it can not connect to the internet. Is the trick to block 8.8.8.8, or redirect it to a new DNS server?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 Beta is now available

For anyone having issues with password length and complexity, I would strongly recommend Bitwarden, a password manager; they have a free version, it’s open source, and it’s incredibly simple to use. I use it with a combo of a DuckDNS email that forwards to my real email. This way if a site is...
