Know you can't place much confidence in the icons used, but the one in your picture reminds me of a fitness tracker (like a FitBit or Apple watch or something similar). Just a thought . . .
@Dodgydrains - thanks for the heads up. Will monitor this thread and see if there are any surprises before jumping in on the update. Yep, not on the bleeding edge this time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We're also running stock ASUS ver 3.0.0.4.388_23285 with one node. We are using 5GHz-2 backhaul and have SAMBA running with a SSD.
Had to reboot the system once after 65 days. That was after I had tweaked device icons and devices in the network map. It was around then that the devices in the...
Understand this update is for V1 units only. Even though I’m on HW V2, the system still shows there is an update available with the little flashing bell indicator on the webGUI. Checked the ASUS site (just in case) and did not find an update for V2 units.
Is there any way to turn off/stop the...
Had the same thing after about 60 days. Everything was working but I just wanted the Clients, View List, and Aimesh to update correctly.
BTW - for me the device list updating stopped in both the webGUI and the Android app. Reboot cleared the problem in both :)
Does GNUTONS fork run on XT8 Ver2 routers?
We're running stock ASUS ver 3.0.0.4.388_23285 with one node. Had to reboot the system once after 65 days. That was after I had tweaked device icons and devices in the the network map stopped updating. Except for that, system has been pretty stable...
Thanks bbunge for confirming this. Assume this works the same way on XT-8 system. Don't setup AiMesh often, but good to know.
Due wonder -- The ASUS router Hard Factory Reset - Method 6 for the XT-8 (Ver 2) uses the WPS button. Hate to assume (we all know what that does) but must think the...
Glad things are settling for you. Our systems have been running great for over 30 days now!
We have each of our units on their own UPS Backup Battery Power Supply. Our old router and modem was on one and it really paid off. Most of our power lines are buried, but a vehicle did manage to...
Replaced our old RT-AC68U with a set of these. We have been running on this version of firmware for over 30 days with no issues. No WAN or device drop outs, no intermittent re-boots, cell phones transfer as we walk through the property and, best of all, no dead zones. We have 500 MBs service...
Upgraded our RT-AC68U to .7378 today with no problems. Thought it was prudent considering the security fixes. Simply unmounted USB, updated firmware, rebooted router using GUI, remounted USB and everything looks good. Even the WPS setting stayed OFF, so not sure about WPS defaulting to ON...
As AndreiV suggested. Turning WPS off on our RT-AC68U did the trick for us. Thought it was disabled but found it turned on after recent firmware upgrade. Could have been a cockpit error on our part....it's off now and no more mystery devices :-)
Our RT-AC68U seems to be stable after flashing to 3.0.0.4.380.7266….EXCEPT
On three separate occasions there has been a strange device listed temporarily in the Windows 10 network. There is a brief description and MAC address listed for each device when it happens.
BLU R1 HD phone – there has...
Flashed today without a hard-reset (just a reboot) and everything is looking good so far. The network tools are now working and the list of clients looks fine.
