Asus AX86U Router - 2.5 Gig port thoughts (2.5 Gig IN but not OUT)

@ts if you have a 2.5G internet then ax86u is definitely not for you. ax6000 is a better fit.

    RT-AX86U intermittent/random drops on merlin fw 388.1

for me, I gave up on 388.1 on ax86u. there are some disconnections that I just can't fix even after multiple reset and configuration. I reverted back to 386.5.2 which is very stable in my environment.

    2 users editing on a 10GbE NAS

not really. I don't think the ubw flex xg supports lacp. if you really want 2 x 10G, then you need to get a NAS with native 2 x 10G + a managed 10G switch that supports lacp.

ASUS router muti-user speed 2.5g wan

Take note that wireless is half-duplex. so what you are seeing is normal.

Solved GT-AX6000 5GHz signal black hole in one specific part of the apartment

imho your settings are ok, it’s just a limitation of 5Ghz. either move your router or use 2.4Ghz

"Best" new router that supports Merlin?

My vote goes to GT-AX6000 if you are after good price and performance. But if you have money to burn then get GT-AXE16000, it's the greatest but cost 700usd.

    AX6000 to AX86U via 2.5Gbps LAN

Just tried, and still just over 1Gbps.

    AX6000 to AX86U via 2.5Gbps LAN

I have directly connected AX6000 to AX86U using the 2.5Gbps ports. Status shows 2.5GBps. But when I performed iperf3 between them the speed is just 1.2Gbps. See screenshots below. Is this expected? Server Client

Asus Wired Access Points connected to non-Asus wired firewall/router

Just to share, I previously used an Asus main router + TP-link routers configured as gigabit wired APs. There are no issues aside from seemless wireless roaming. I have tried all the wireless settings available on all devices but clients can't just roam properly from Asus to TP-link and vice...

FlexQoS FlexQoS 1.3.2 - Flexible QoS Enhancement Script for Adaptive QoS

I have a nas that is used for cloud backup, so basically during night time for scheduled backups, I want it to run it at full bandwidth with no qos. I’m ok with it not having qos since I control the machine.

FlexQoS FlexQoS 1.3.2 - Flexible QoS Enhancement Script for Adaptive QoS

When running FlexQOS, is it possible to bypass it for a single client? E.g. I want 192.168.1.10 to not have qos.

    dns.msftncsi.com flooding my NextDNS

if you do it that way, will network map still show connected even if your actual wan link is down?

    dns.msftncsi.com flooding my NextDNS

I also don't understand why Asus needs to implement this even if you are using single wan. I use to blank this out on 386.3.2 otherwise my dns server will be filled with this. Unfortunately you can't blank this out on 386.4, since you will encounter the disconnected issue on network map.

    ad blocking

Previously using Pi-Hole, I migrated to AdguardHome :-) Primary DNS - AdguardHome via Docker on NAS Secondary DNS - AdguardHome via Addon on AX86u
