Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

Got the TS-453 PRO today, thanks for all the guidance guys. Is there a site where I could find info on the different RAID levels? I would probably be starting with two disks and add more later

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

Thanks for that detailed chart. The other thing I noticed is that the RAM in the Synology 415+ is not user upgradeable, whereas it is possible in the QNAP without voiding the warranty. Looks like the TS-453 PRO wins on the hardware side of things. Dont have a need for VMs now, but how about the...

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

Thanks for that. So 4 bay quad core it is. Does Synology have an equivalent of the TS-453? The feature set in their quad core models seem to be geared towards business use.

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

Yes. The UX500 is priced at 599 AUD, and thats what set me thinking. TS-251 + UX500 = 1028 AUD for 7 bays, Dual core CPU. TS-453 pro + UX500 = 1328 AUD for 9 bays, Quad core CPU. I might be able to defer the ux500 for sometime if I get the 453 and keep my existing Buffalo 2 bay NASes.

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

TS-251 429 AUD TS-451 635 AUD TS-253 pro 629 AUD TS-453 pro 729 AUD UX500 Expansion unit costs 599 AUD The price difference for the TS-451 and TS-253 pro is negligible compared to the TS-453 pro, and I am trying to decide between the TS-251 and the TS-453 pro. The...

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

OK. .. I've gone full circle and back to where I started. Started looking for a 2 bay NAS then stepped up to 4 bay for future proofing. Then I read about the expansion units from QNAP and I'm reconsidering the 2 bays again. So it's a choice between the TS-251 and TS-453 Pro. The price...

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

Leaning towards the QNAP, primarily due to fact that its got two RAM slots in case I want to upgrade. But is the Quad core Atom based DS415+ superior to the Dual Core Celeron based TS451? And why is the TS-451S cheaper than the TS451? Is it just because the TS451S can take only 2.5" HDDs / SSDs?

My existing NAS boxes are due for an upgrade anyway. Would like some feedback on Synology TS415+ and TS 415PLAY QNAP TS -451

A mate suggested I invest in a 4 bay for future expansion, guess I got to do more research *sigh*

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

It was a hard week at work, and I probably overreacted when your response was kinda off topic. At the risk of going off topic in a thread I started, lets check if google drive will suit my requirements and it would be great if you could help me choose a NAS based on that. When I tried Google...

Thanks. Which of these 3 models would you recommend?

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

With all due respect, I must disagree sfx. I start a thread asking for feedback on 3 NAS models and Steve's response was his opinion on Google drive. I ignore that comment and explain why I prefer Google drive before requesting for feedback on those NAS models. Again, Steve posts something...

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

I chose Goggle drive for its integration with Picasa, perfect for photo storage and sharing. But regardless of the provider, I want a NAS which can sync to a cloud provider, and these 3 are within my budget. Will appreciate if I can get some feedback on those models. Edit: Fixed spelling

Need a Two bay NAS to sync with Google Drive.

Hi all, I have a pair of Buffalo Linkstation PRO Duo 2 Bay NAS enclosures which are taking care of my back up needs at the moment. However, I want to store photos and documents up in the cloud, and Google drive is my preferred provider. Did some research and narrowed down my choices to 3 NASes...
