Can only take educated guesses here... if your modem has 4 ports, it might be a "router/gateway" and not just a "modem." (The make/model of the router plugged into some google searches would reveal that answer.) It sounds like you're describing that it used to work fine, but suddenly overnight... -

...another tool that doesn't report per app (level 7) data? With NetFlow, there are hundreds of apps that can do some really nice reporting, but NOT per app. At best, they'll give a src/dest address, protocol (tcp/udp/icmp/etc) and port number. That MIGHT be enough data to guess what app is... -

I suppose it depends on what the small business is. If it's something in the medical field (requiring HIPAA) or something with other similar privacy requirements, then the needs would be different from... a small construction contracting office with 4-5 people (as an example.) In this forum...
