Improving performance of RT-N66U... what are my options?

Hi alexbc, Im going to chime in here. A couple of questions. First the box that you show in the picture, Is that for your condo unit only? or does it feed to other units? Next, If the box is for your unit only it appears that there are rj45 connectors there? do you have any rj45 jacks in...

how to check cpu size rt-68u

looks like a 1GHz cpu. You can also get a ton of info using dmesg. If you just want cpu speed use: dmesg | grep CPU That works on a N66U , not sure about other models though

Help with a Sonicwall and Asus Router

With your modem not being bridged you run into a double nat situation. While for the most part, double nat wont cause a problem , but it might with secure type connections. Secure connections try to "backtrack", double nat interferes with that. With not knowing your exact network configuration...

Help with a Sonicwall and Asus Router

had another thought, Is the modem you have set for bridge mode? You can sometimes tell if its not in bridge mode by the IP address of the wan. If the wan IP is something like 192.168.x.x then its not bridged. Reason being if things are double nat then weird things can happen. Modem should be in...

    Asus RT-N66U - Maxing out connections/bandwidth

If I am not mistaken , HW acceleration is disabled with QoS turned on. I have an N66U I do gaming and downloading with QoS off. I have not experienced any problems. Have you tried QoS off? Also, HW acceleration is under LAN settings in the switch control tab. Yours may be different location as...

Asus locking down routers to comply with new FCC rules

Well every range extender that I have looked at has a rating of 700mw output power. In this thread and others have stated that output power is limited to 80mw in routers. I am assuming that extenders are permitted to run 700mw other wise there would be a stink about it. Seems to me if routers...

Asus Rt-n66U short circuit & no boot.....

I would suggest checking the power supply adapter first to see that its outputting 19 volts.

Asus locking down routers to comply with new FCC rules

So why is it that range extenders are permitted to run 700mw and routers are not? Ive tried to find an answer , but no luck.

    RT-N66U antenna connector falls apart

I was thinking heat was the culprit too. When I got my N66R it was almost too hot to touch. Cheap plastic doesn't like heat. So I set up a small fan to blow across the unit and 2.5 years later the plastic bezels are still good.

[RT-N66U] Random high ping spikes on all firmwares

It may be interference from neighbors routers. Have you tried using inSSIDer to do a site survey?
