Solved Work-around for Wyze Devices with issues when Router has DNS-over-TLS (DoT) Enabled

Wow, thanks! I had problems with my Amazon Smart Thermostat not communicating when I used DoT. Using your second option (using the phone app), they now communicate. Thanks again. George

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

I have the three channel Velop with four nodes. I will admit the switching on VoWifi works a little better but not by much. Everything else is unacceptable. They go down all the time and the speed is laughable sometimes. I am currently using a GT-AC5300 as the master and two RT-AC5300's as...

    Wifi calling and AIMesh

Yes, my wife's iphone X will drop a call occasionally. I have no drops on my android.

Is that an option on the GT-AC5300? All I see is Jumbo Frame and Bonding/Link Aggregation.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Not exactly... I have tri-band smart connect set up but I turned off the 5-1 radio in the professional tab under wireless. Then I adjusted the smart connect rule in the network tools under smart connect rule as the attached picture shows. It was my way to mimic the default settings of the...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

That's the way I though it would work as well. It appears to me that on my setup, the band steering is kicking the client off of that band but before it gets on another band of the same router, it moves to a different router. Once I set it back up the default way, I will send you the log. I'm...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Clients are steering but for no good reason. They are going to a node that is further away even though they are not being physically moved. Once I turn off the 5-1 radio on the 5300 and change the smart connect rule to look like that of a 3100, everything gets steered properly. They remain on...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

When I do that, the clients bounce around and end up on the nodes (3100's) which, most of the time, are further away. Very few clients remain on the 5300, especially on the 5-1 radio. They typically get kicked down to the 2.4 radio of the 5300 or one of the nodes.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

How does that work when the main router is a rt-ac5300 and the nodes are rt-ac3100's? The 5300 has three radio settings while the 3100 only two. I'm having issues with clients bouncing around and winding up on the nodes. If I turn off the 5-1 radio and change the smart connect setting to look...

    Does T-Mobile/ASUS TM-AC1900 (RT-AC68U) Support Merlin?

I've not had a single problem so far on Merlin's. I only run it AP mode, so i haven't really tested all the features. Under both the stock and Merlin's, I get about 35 MB/s on a usb3 WD Passport. I have a dedicated NAS but just wanted to see what kinds of speeds I could get. On the wifi...

You get six if you flash Merlin's.

    Does T-Mobile/ASUS TM-AC1900 (RT-AC68U) Support Merlin?

I got mine yesterday as well. Just like you, I upgraded using the automated feature to get to 3.0.0.4.376_2827 and now I can't flash any other firmware. I even tried downgrading to the original firmware with no luck. Let me know if you have any luck. I have not tried recovery mode yet...
