asus AC68P merlin need open nat on 2 consoles!!

You could always just put the PS4 out on the DMZ. Thats what I did with mine and I get Type 2 OPEN anytime I check it. Just give the PS4 a static IP and then type that IP into the DMZ server field in Merlin. My Xbox One gets all the proper port forwarding.

    Why use WRT Merlin?

I would love to see the statistics on how many routers Tomato and DD-WRT have helped to brick since their arrival on the firmware scene! ;) Nothing against either one of those platforms. I have used both and found them solid offerings, but I also saw a lot of potential booby traps lying in...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

The minute you restore to factory defaults, you wipe everything off your NVRAM, and unless you saved all your settings beforehand, starting from scratch is your only option. But it is usually advised that even if you have saved your router settings, to truly make a clean break from everything...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Exactly the same case for me throughout all my various flashes and re-flashes. For whatever reason it would seem that the 5 GHz band has never wavered in performance or up time. I use the 5G side exclusively to connect all my personal wireless devices which includes my iPad Mini 4 and the 2015...

bbc iplayer vpn policy based routing

I heard a piece on one of my technology podcasts the other day that interviewed one of the network guys from the BBC and from what I managed to glean from his comments, they are wise to these various methods of "spoofing" your region in order to get whatever feed from them you are after...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

WOW! See what happens when you are away from these forums for more than a few days? lol! :D I've been sounding the alarm bell over this 2.4 bug since a few days after ASUS first released it into the wild via their latest firmware update back on December 11th. This one is squarely in ASUS's...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Not to be confused with the far more pervasive failure of the 2.4 GHz band to communicate with or through the router's WAN port. Resulting in the total loss of internet access for all 2.4 G connected devices on your network! Only solution is a re-flash back to 378.56_2, which instantly...

    Why use WRT Merlin?

All these previous posts have summed it all up nicely. Let me just add my overall opinion of Merlin and why I truly believe that it is the best choice for your ASUS router. I should mention that I ran with Tomato for the Linksys WRT-54G router for nearly 5 years, and another 18 months with...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

The Lion's Share of the problems many are having with this release can be traced right back to the latest ASUS firmware version Merlin is always based on, and incorporates. To an item, every single issue I encountered while running this first incarnation of the 380 series here with Merlin is...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Meanwhile... My 68U B1 with 378.56_2 are running like a top with 27 devices connected from all three traffic sources. High amounts of HD streaming and video gaming going on for good portions of the day and so far, not a single report of buffering or other performance related symptoms! :D I...

    Asus router app

Considering that a good chunk of the ASUS router community uses Merlin, and RMerlin has the full support of ASUS in terms of offering his variants to the factory stuff, I would hope not! ;) Although I must say that based on my 1st impressions as described above, I am not impressed by this...

    Asus router app

Has anyone gotten this to work with an iPad Mini 4 running the latest iOS? My router is a brand new 68U rev. B1 purchased last week from Amazon.com and now running Merlin firmware version 378.56_2. I can launch the app, but tapping on SIGN IN immediately pops up an alert box with the following...

ASUS Router App for iOS (iPad) - Earliest Supported Firmware?

YIKES! You weren't kidding! lol! ;) Looks like this current version needs a ton of work based on that screenshot! Glad I didn't spend too much time trying to get this to work. Actually, more like figure out why I can't log in to my brand new 68U running Merlin 378.56_2 ???

ASUS Router App for iOS (iPad) - Earliest Supported Firmware?

I guess the operative word here is that its an iOS app, so it does launch on an iPad but as you say, the screen is locked in the vertical and it lacks other standard view options a real iPad app would have, but it does come up in iPad only searches. That is actually how I found it originally...

ASUS Router App for iOS (iPad) - Earliest Supported Firmware?

Thanks for the info Greg! I have all my HTTP access set to the defaults and that works fine for me with a standard web browser and any of our Macs or iOS devices. Only settings besides the user name and password is a slider switch called ADVANCED. Under the ADVANCED TAB: The HTTP port is...
