So guessing the fine folks at Asus have forgotten about us? Figured we'd have seen some new firmware by now giving us back the 2nd 5Ghz radio. Guess I need to put in these Nokia beacons I have sitting here to see if they are worth a darn or if I just need to bite the bullet and go bigger/ better.
Amen. Been waiting for them to update the firmware and fix for 2 months now. Have some Nokia nodes coming soon to test out. From a test report from Tolly, looks very promising!

Was using another laptop I had. 1st one was a work laptop that was newer and NIC would support the speeds, but only got 600-700mbps. Personal got 900mbps or so. But yours is obviously good if getting those speeds bypassing the router.

Assume you have a 1Gbps connection? Is the NIC capable? Know I had a laptop that should’ve been, but could never get full speeds. Finally tried another one, and was able to.

Has anyone gone mesh (either Velop or Orbi)? Seriously considering selling one of these and just using the other as a router only and something else for access points. Want a better roaming experience, especially for VoWiFi since I work from home and sometimes pace around.
I have that setup. Works fine...wouldn't let max speeds be your deciding factor as you won't ever see those speeds anyway. Fastest I get wirelessly is about 400-450 Mbps on any of my devices. Have actually considered using the GT-AC5300 as my router and Orbi as my APs.
Looks like .648 is up

You did do a factory reset and set it up again "fresh"? Know I read somewhere it can take 2-3 to clear everything out of NVRAM, but not sure how true that is. Know I was having some issues and did this and seemed to clear everything up.
Noticed if you go to Driver & Tools and use "other" for OS, they have the .20308 GPL for download. Seems most everywhere else it's much older 382 based firmware. FYI for anyone looking (only found trying to see if .20648 was posted anywhere yet).
