    That is so simple... a different VLAN for one port of the Xserve. Thanks! Or at the least, use port 2 on the xserve on a sep subnet. Forgot about that 2nd port.

    Just Back-up on LAN

    OK, let me go back a step: We have a 1 TB drive in a mac Xserve 10.6 on a gigabit and fiber LAN and want to back up the 1 TB drive in a different building. Thus my thought of a NAS. And thus, no need for fancy NAS features. Thoughts and recommendations? Thanks!

    Just Back-up on LAN

    We have an Xserve and want to back it up in another building on our LAN (physically separate enough, but on our fiber/GB LAN). Can anyone suggest a simple solution? I assume it would be a rsynch solution? We do not need media servers, etc. Just network back-up as simple as possible. Thanks!
