    I have been happily using Merlin FW on my RT-AC68A router for quite a few months. I had stopped upgrading to the newest releases right around the time that it came to light that the AC68A was being shipped with crippled firmware from Amazon.     That is the firmware version that arrived on my rt-ac68a. This firmware version appears to be fully functional (at least to me). I am currently running Merlins custom firmware without problems. I do believe the other firmware is the problematic version. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    You should read a few pages back. This model seems to have shipped with two different firmware versions. The firmware on yours, 380_2892 has crippled many of the options on this router, including the ability to upload new firmware. At this time there does not appear to be a work around. Sent...

    I can't help but wonder if the "issues" being investigated by Amazon are that a few units shipped with the wrong firmware version's. I'm also still being hopeful that the full feature firmware is the correct firmware. Am I being to wishful? I'm curious also of the number of units that have...

    The unit I received appears to not have the "crippleware". Hopefully as long as I never update the stock firmware, and I stick with the asuswrt-merlin side of things, I will be happy. Asus can't force a firmware upgrade right? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
