Thank you very much for all your thoughts on this.
For the time being I just added a second physical NIC and bound qBittorrent to that adapter. VPN director directs all traffic from the IP of that second physical NIC to the WG client. The second physical NIC used by qBittorrent has a high...
OK let's assume the torrent process is in a VM or is being forced through the VPN by that special windows command in the link you included at the end (thank you very much for finding that obscure feature!).
I still want to offload the encryption processing onto the router.
The next step is for...
Thank you very much for all the misunderstandings you pointed out.
Regarding other thread you mentioned: Yes, I said I had it working with VPN director and the firmware was unstable. Specifically this is what happened: I added this line to the OpenVPN client config (in addition to the other...
Hello,
My goal is to have ONLY qBittorent traffic directed through a VPN using RT-AX88U Pro.
All the pieces seem to be in place but none of the torrent traffic is going to the VPN.
Here's the set it up:
qBittorent bound to OpenVPN Client on PC <-> OpenVPN Server on Router <-> VPN...
OK, I am hearing substantial reasons that the stock firmware is probably not a good path for my goal. Thank you for that.
The issue with Merlin is that web pages randomly fail to load and pings to google.com just time out randomly.
Where would be the best place to start identifying the cause...
Yes, that makes sense. Thank you.
I haven't been able to find an interface for policy based routing in the stock firmware.
Can I accomplish policy based routing for this using iptables commands in a script on the router?
I had everything working with the Merlin VPN director but I had to revert to stock firmware because the Merlin version was extremely unstable (I ran a ping to google.com continuously and the would often time out for no apparent reason). When I reverted to stock firmware the network was stable...
Thank you for your clarification about the Allowed IPs field.
If put "0.0.0.0/1,128.0.0.0/1" into Allowed IPs it will route all of the router's traffic to the WG client.
My goal is to only route traffic coming in from the OpenVPN server to the WG client.
How can I accomplish that please?
I'd like to route all traffic from an OpenVPN server client to the Wireguard client.
All the traffic keeps from the OpenVPN server keeps going to the internet instead of through the Wireguard client though.
I greatly appreciate any insight into what's missing or incorrect here.
The person who started this thread seems to have made it work with VPN Director: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/openvpn-for-torrent-traffic-on-router-only.76339/
This is my router LAN config
No my PC does not have a network adapter with the address 10.0.0.111
I thought qBittorrent will connect to the VPN client on the router using this IP
I only want the torrent traffic to go through the VPN and not anything else on the PC.
Hello,
My goal is to have qBittorent bind to an IP address which will route everything through the OpenVPN client of the router.
Everything seems configured right but qBittorent logs this error: "Failed to find the configured network address to listen on. Address: "10.0.0.111"
I greatly...
