I don't transfer data more than like 2 times a year. I need a router capable of handling download, multiple streaming and gaming at the same time. That's it.
I understand the c7 is more basic vs the asus, but is the asus 3.5 times better than the c7? Cause it costs 3.5 times more. I'm on a...
That must be the wisest comment of all the discussion.
Thanks, I truly appreciate what you wrote and the time you took to write it.
On a side note, the c7 works flawlessly, it's smooth and the connection is good. I think I'll save the 150$ and return the asus for another c7.
304$ to ship it at the current price. Might as well buy a XR500 currently at 280$ + taxes.
I will return it and get the Archer C7 for 80$ + taxes at Staples next to my work. I'll return the second Asus too. Val D recommended the C7 a few post back. The firmware is also way much recent.

I hope I'll get my 450 Mbps download with 86u as this is what I get with my 10 years old wndr3800, single core 680 mhz and like 32 mb of ram, on a 400Mbps connection.
I think I'll install the Archer 2300 at my father's house and save him 60$. What worry me a bit is the last firmware update goes...
I really enjoyed reading you two but I'm still confused. For my apartment, I think I'll keep the asus. In any case, I'm a computer programmer and can tweek it as much as I need to. But for my father, should I keep the asus at 207$ total or keep the tp link at 149$?
My father got a few devices...
Thanks !
I am also wondering something. I bought a tp-link archer ac2300 last week on amazon for 130$ + taxes for my father. I did not open the box yet. I am wondering if I should send it back and get another Asus for him or it doesn't really make a difference.
Thank you very much for indepth explanation ! I'll check the black friday deals for an AIO router then. I have other things to do in my life than messing with a network.
Thanks again !
No no I don't want it badly. What I had in mind after reading a lot here and on other forums is that ubiquiti ap are the holy grail of wifi. I thought of going that way with a tp link because it's cheaper and supposedly better. I just didn't know which router to pair it with.
That said, I will...
I was waiting on your reply actually. Not that I don't trust others opinion, but I saw a couple of your posts and always thought you knew what you are talking about. The same goes for Val D. too in fact.
You would suggest an AIO router vs an access point like a 245 v3 ? I can easily run a wire...
