Wireguard server not using DNS settings that are defined in WAN settings

Thank you so much for this! I have created the ./nat-start file and have made it executable, works like a charm, guess the true way to test this out is by rebooting my router, I'll have to do that later tonight. I also find it odd that my wireguard server is not respecting the DNS = field...

Wireguard server not using DNS settings that are defined in WAN settings

I am two months late, apologies didn't see your response right away, but these two commands appear to work when executing them on my router! It's a shame that this isn't permanent as you mentioned but i suppose it will work for now. Thank you very much!~

Wireguard server not using DNS settings that are defined in WAN settings

Thanks, yeah i know the Pro version of the rt-ax86u is a different branch, i actually have both the Pro and Non-Pro version (Non-pro is apart of the Mesh network) Yeah as mentioned in my other comment me and my buddy both VPN into each others networks, his RT-AX88U doesn’t utilize my PiHoles...

Wireguard server not using DNS settings that are defined in WAN settings

Y Thanks for your response! Yeah rt-ax86u is the domain my router uses, pretty sure the default is Local or something along those lines. Edit: wow the compression on the image below is horrendous, just going to have to take my word for it!

Wireguard server not using DNS settings that are defined in WAN settings

I understand Private Relay takes precedence over any other manually defined DNS, but it’s not just iOS/iPadOS I have this issue with, I have about 7-8 other clients from people who I allowed to VPN into my network and one of those clients is actually another ASUS WRT Merlin router. None of these...

Wireguard server not using DNS settings that are defined in WAN settings

Doesn’t appear their Private Relay feature is available for LTE/5G, I can confirm I have turned it off for my home network.

Wireguard server not using DNS settings that are defined in WAN settings

I suspect it’s defaulting to my ISP’s provided DNS but really got no way to prove it, both my LAN & WAN settings on my router are configured to use my PiHole’s, my Piholes recognize queries from all LAN devices. I’m using the Wireguard client for iOS/iPadOS and I do get internet access...

Wireguard server not using DNS settings that are defined in WAN settings

Evening, Ever since i set up my two PiHoles, one behind Proxmox and the other on Bare-Metal, I've been trying to get my Wireguard server that is hosted on my Asus RT-AX86U to make use of my DNS-Sinkholes, every forum topic i visit people say to just edit the DNS = field on the client to point...

Is there a guide to setting up multiple DDNS records?

Wait, so all I have to do it add a CNAME from Domain #1 to Domain #2? I’m no networking expert but is it really that simple? I’m think my post was unclear, I want to purchase a second domain and have my ASUS Router handle DDNS like it does my current domain, I couldn’t find much online in this...

Is there a guide to setting up multiple DDNS records?

Evening y'all, I got my Asus WRT Merlin router (RT-AX86U) setup with a domain an DDNS however, I'm thinking of getting a second domain from my registrar (Cloudflare), i curious if anyone here has experience setting up multiple DDNS records with cloudflare utilizing thier Asus routers? Proper way to expose services to the internet with Asus Merlin?

I want to assume this as well however, shouldn't that cause conflict with LetsEncrypt? For me to receive production certificates for my domain/website port 80:80 an 443:443 are forwarded on my router.

Proper way to expose services to the internet with Asus Merlin?

Honestly not even sure, I guess i have to start digging to see where Debian (the VM that runs my containers) keeps its firewall related settings? The reason i believe its the router is because when i go to watch the system log and on another device via LTE refresh the website i see dropped...

Proper way to expose services to the internet with Asus Merlin?

This may sound like a dumb question however, i have a small server running on my network running Proxmox and the Docker Engine with PiHole, Invidious, SearX and couple more services all reverse proxied & ssl production certs via Traefik. I've been wanting to properly expose these services to the...

    Pi-Hole + Asus WRT Wireguard

Hey y'all I got a Pi-Hole setup on my network catching all LAN/WAN DNS queries however, my issue is that it's not catching Wireguard queries from my Asus router. I tried setting up PiVPN on my RPi however, for this to work my RPi must not be routed through a VPN tunnel and must have the WAN IP...

[Help] Routing VPN server through VPN client (external VPN Provider)

When accessing 192.168.1.1 it’s via Http while my ddns address is accessed via Https (https://www.ddns.com:8443/) Yeah I have noticed other LAN devices like my raspberry pi or smart home devices not allowing me access to their resources when connected via the Wireguard server, i did allocate...
