Asus RT-AC68U schedule block not working

Thanks, I followed the same approach and it worked for me too. It looks like rules created from the web and Android app don't mix well. I am running firmware version 384.19. It is odd that the Android app doesn't have a toggle button like the web and I am not sure if using that can also mess up...

Beta Script to monitor temperatures on RT-AC68U

Yes, I have come across a few threads and some of them suggested that even 100°C is safe for the CPU, but I couldn't make any conclusions on safe temperatures for the wifi radios. E.g., comparing against yours, I see that the wifi radios are at 52/54 but I have never seen mine run that cool...

Beta Script to monitor temperatures on RT-AC68U

Radios on my first router stopped working within hours of setting it up and I suspected it due to high temperature (CPU was at 96°C). When I got a replacement, I didn't want to take a chance so had it always running with a fan. I recently upgraded to RT-AC86U and converted the old router to an...

Ssh connection to router gets reset every few seconds

Nice finding! Thanks for the update!

Ssh connection to router gets reset every few seconds

Thanks a lot @ColinTaylor for reproducing this and confirming the behavior. It is interesting that it doesn't take the value as is, but instead uses 4 times the given value. I hope this thread will help others who are googling.

    Wifi Disconnects on MacBook Air

I have this same issue with my MBP. I upgraded from RT-AC68U to RT-AC86U two days back and wireless has been pretty stable. Today, I converted the former as an AiMesh node and in the past hour or so, my Mac wifi got disconnected almost every minute. For the first 1hr or so, it was stable, so not...

Ssh connection to router gets reset every few seconds

Well, ServerAliveInterval is meant to keep the connection alive. Per documentation ServerAliveInterval: number of seconds that the client will wait before sending a null packet to the server (to keep the connection alive). That means, setting it to 10 must result in getting a null packet sent...

Ssh connection to router gets reset every few seconds

Strange... now I see that my new rt-ac86u also does exactly the same. $ time ssh admin@192.168.1.1 admin@192.168.1.1's password: ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AC86U 384.19_0 Fri Aug 14 19:19:51 UTC 2020 admin@asus-router:/tmp/home/root# Shared connection to 192.168.1.1 closed. real 0m45.036s user...

Ssh connection to router gets reset every few seconds

    Thank you Colin! This is the output, I don't see anything strange: admin@RT-AC68U-E770:/tmp/home/root# ps w | grep dropbear 224 admin 1116 S dropbear -p 22 -j -k 1216 admin 1136 S dropbear -p 22 -j -k 17223 admin 1136 S dropbear -p 22 -j -k 17242 admin 1436 S grep...

Ssh connection to router gets reset every few seconds

It should be set to 20 minutes, the default (I never changed it). However, I can't check it now because this router is now configured as an AiMesh node. When I had this router as primary, that was the first thing I checked. Now that it is reconfigured as a node, I am not sure how to check it...

Ssh connection to router gets reset every few seconds

I have trouble keeping my ssh connection from my Mac to the router alive. It stays connected for only about 30 seconds if I leave it idle, as you can see below (the timing includes the time to enter password): $ time ssh admin@192.168.1.5 admin@192.168.1.5's password: ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AC68U...

Non working 2.4GHz and weak 5.8GHz on converted TM-1900

Yesterday, I flashed a T-Mobile CellSpot router first with an Asus stock firmware and then with Merlin firmware following a popular guide. Everything went smoothly and it worked well. I tested the wifi bandwidth on both radios from different parts of my house and I was satisfied. After using for...
