    Ah okay. Well moving everything around is a lot of work in my situation. But perhaps some added cleaning would justify it... I have a pretty decent switch I think: Cisco SG200-26.

    That's not an easy job, given the locations, power connections and so on. It's easier to test the different profiles or downgrade, as it has worked before upgrading the firmware (as mentioned).

    Dunno. But I cannot seem to find 386.45987 for AC86U. It only appears to be for the RT-AC68U? The only current version I can find on the Asus website for my AC86U is: 3.0.0.4.386.45956. Is that correct?

And I thought I read somewhere it's being adviced to use the same firmware on all AiMesh devices? And not to mix them? Maybe I am wrong though. Still I do not understand...

    I was hoping the latest version of MerlinWRT (v386.4) would fix the AiMesh issue with guest access on my two RT-AC86U's. But it doesn't....     I was hoping for a new firmware version from Asus (and followed by an update by MerlinWRT), however it seems very quiet. I really hope the new firmware version (whenever it comes out) really addresses the Guest Access issue (with AI Mesh).

    That's something! Hopefully they will fix it soon. So MerlinWRT can create an updated firmware. Currently the guest access is not as useful...

    My best guess is that the (current) firmware is bugged... Hopefully the new version will be bug free in terms of having a (really) safe guest network...

    So I have to go back to the original Asus firmware, instead of using MerlinWRT 386.3_2 (latest version)? @RMerlin is your firmware revision different compared to the Asus one in terms of Guest Network? Maybe your version has a bug? Can you confirm this (or not) please.
