I will recommend DC UPS like I'm using for all the LAN related devices... you will get at least 2 times more running time on the same battery comparing to AC UPS (as you are not loosing power on any DC (battery) -> AC (multiple power supply(s)) -> DC (devices))...
OK, I have tested VLAN with different firmwares (Netgear .90 , .86, .68) different ISP (LTE including) and "Internet" was not available with VLAN enabed... so I have started reading R7800 user manual as you are always comming back to manuals when something is not working ;) - not before setup :P...
This is not related to stability but keep alive the connection. On original firmware when this option was enabled and VPN on my phone was connected it remain connected until I have manually disconnected from the VPN (24h+). When this option is disabled on Voxel firmware you will get disconnected...
In original vendor firmware this option is enabled and grayed out once VPN enabled. This is setup that way to keep VPN connection alive as per Netgear support response...
This was the main reason I have moved to custom firmware (DDWRT) but it had no SmartConnect option so found Voxel firmware...
