Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 Beta is now available

No, sorry! I focussed on the first part of your sentence and didn't quite get the distinction between manual and static, but it's all clear now:-)

Lightbulb moment for me, Merlin! They are reservations, set on the router, not the client. Thank you.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 Beta is now available

I do use a switch. This morning all of my clients - wired and wireless - are reporting as DHCP, including all of the clients with static IPs. Is that expected behaviour, or because of the AiMesh node?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 Beta is now available

Good to know. You're not running an AiMesh Node, right?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 Beta is now available

Updated from beta 1 to beta 2 on my AX-86U Pro without issue, but just noticed that if I view the client list from the Network Map, that all of my wireless clients that have static IPs are showing as DHCP connections. All of the wired clients with Static IPs are labelled correctly as "Static"...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.4 Beta is now available

Very similar setup here, with an RT-AX86U running 3004.388.8_4 and an RT-AC86U as the node. No guest networks either. I haven't tried the 3006 beta yet, but my guess is it will still work fine. Of course if anyone finds otherwise, yell loudly:-) I also have my router's IP set to...

    No. Pro models only, unfortunately.

I hope it does. My needs are pretty simple, and not having to start from scratch would make it more appealing to experiment for me. I'm also wondering if it's easy enough to switch back to 3004 if need be.

    We have liftoff

Exciting news! So does this mean you think the 3006 firmware is at a point now where it's an improvement over 3004 on these devices?

    Diversion Diversion 5.4.6 - the Router Ad-Blocker, July 27, 2025

I updated this morning and it was unusually slow, so maybe there was an issue with the server. Definitely worth trying again.

Entware Entware updates have appeared !!!

It may be specific to your router/setup. I just updated (on my RT-AX86U Pro) and the Diversion web UI is fine.

Not Another One! But yes, AX or BE Question

I'm running an RT-AX86U Pro (running Merlin 3004.388.8_4) with a single RT-AC86U (Merlin 3004.386.14_2) as a wired AIMesh node, and for my needs (which are, like yours, relatively simple), it's worked beautifully from the get-go. Big house, all double brick internal walls, with one at each end...

Thanks for that. That gets there:-)

Hmmm, leads to an empty folder for me. Has this been removed?

Looking for feedback: Anyone considering AiCloud important to them?

I've never used it and never will, but if others do then I can't see much reason to remove it. If you don't enable it, it's not a security risk, is it? Perhaps an alert to the risks (similar to the popup for WAN access) would be enough?
