    Yes I tried this, but as I mentioned in my original post, uploading the firmware always fails.

    Sorry I didn't know what firmware was on it exactly. However, I cannot return to the regular asus wrt firmware by flashing it. When trying to flash any rescue firmware in rescue mode I get this error; Failed to upload the firmware file. transfer cancelled.

    But is it even necessary? Do I need to remove the merlin firmware to get it found as node in aimesh? Or is something else preventing it from finding it as a node?
