    External Antenna for RT-N66U

Sorry if I sounded "defensive". One of my biggest peeves is when I ask a question about hardware and someone responds talking to me about money. Thanks though, I know you were just trying to be helpful. I guess I'll try it first w/ the stock antennas or maybe just wait the week or two until...

    External Antenna for RT-N66U

From the network closet in the front to the back yard, the signal has to go around 100ft. through a couple of walls and floor of the second floor / ceiling of the first floor. It's my money. I can spend it how I want to. I get a discount on them anyway.

    External Antenna for RT-N66U

robgold or anyone else w/ experience using WL-ANT-157 antennas w/ the 66u; My home has a networking closet near the front of the house on the second floor. The 66u is in this networking closet. I need the 5GHz and 2.4GHz signals to reach the back yard on the other end of the house (which of...

    Which setup to go with?

Have another question related to the Netgear access point. Its supplied AC adapter supplies 12V and 1A to the access point. The access point is PoE compatible though. I was looking at this PoE injector...

    Which setup to go with?

Ok, I'm going to be setting up a new network at home. A friend is going to give me the gear, I just have to choose what I want. I have a network closet where all the ethernet ports in each room of the house is routed to so wired routing performance must be good. I also need a good wifi...

    Intermittent Connection Issue.

My mistake. They didn't work right at all. They were picking up a neighbor's open wifi.

    Intermittent Connection Issue.

Ok so earlier I tried connecting just the E4200 to the modem and again, intermittent connection issue. Removed the E4200 and connected my old WRT54GL. Same problem. Called Cox again and explained what is happening. I told them that I think the problem is with the modem, but the technician I...

    Intermittent Connection Issue.

I've already done that as well. Had one of my laptops connected directly to the cable modem for a day and it worked just fine. Then I hooked up just one of the E4200s directly to the cable modem and ran that for a day as well. Did that for both E4200s and wifi worked fine with both.

    Intermittent Connection Issue.

I did swap power supplies and ethernet cables (from modem to E4200). When I mentioned identical settings, I forgot to mention that the channels for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios on both are set to auto.

    Intermittent Connection Issue.

The intermittent connection is on both wired and wireless. Sorry, it's WPA2 + AES, not WEP. I've already tried swapping the E4200s. So I should set the channel manually on both E4200s' 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios? Also, not sure if it helps, but everything is on the latest version of the...

    Intermittent Connection Issue.

I guess this could have gone in the Routers forums, but it could go in here too. We just moved into a new home. It has a networking closet and almost all the rooms are wired with an ethernet port. Cox technician setup the ethernet cables in the networking closet and tested the connection in...

Linksys WET610N Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge with Dual-Band Reviewed

Thanks for all the help Tim! So what would be an IP address in the LAN range of the WRT610N, but outside its DHCP server range? Could you give me one I could use?

Linksys WET610N Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge with Dual-Band Reviewed

I'm not well versed with all of this networking stuff. My WRT610N's info. from the web management page: Local IP address is: 192.168.1.1 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP Server: Enable Start IP Address: 192.168.1.100 Basically, I'm making it so the WET610N is like a wired ethernet...

Linksys WET610N Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge with Dual-Band Reviewed

My WRT610N's IP address is 192.168.1.1. Would I set the WET610N's IP address to 192.168.1.2 then the WRT160N's Static IP to 192.168.2.1? Also, would I leave the WRT160N's DHCP Server enabled?
