    Broken power button

Another switch failure with an RT-AC66U (1 of 20). It's one of the newer units, was wall mounted and untouched for years. Failure occurred during a power outage. (!?) Will likely report switch cover and block opening. While there is enough information here to source the part and resolder, the...

RT-AC66U - Script for separate VLANS and Subnets with DHCP

Thank you for the confirmation. That was what dslreports speedtest suggested but all the posts I found discussed why it needed newer kernels in portions that were Broadcom controlled.

    [RT-AC66U + Tomato Shibby 1.38] 5GHz Channel Width stuck at 20MHz

Originally set to EU, which limited Channel Width to 20MHz. Then to Canada/Australia/Sweden which were all given as suggestions in various threads. Australia/Canada enabled 40MHz. Eventually tried US, which allowed 80MHz. But the only difference between US and Canada is one 80MHz range, as...

RT-AC66U - Script for separate VLANS and Subnets with DHCP

So I tried Tomato Shibby (various releases) on an RT-AC66U with great success on the QoS but brittle 5GHz wireless. It starts locked to 20MHz. Finally got 80MHz by using Australia as regulatory country but that matches Canada so the difference is not clear. But the QoS works well. When can we...

    [RT-AC66U + Tomato Shibby 1.38] 5GHz Channel Width stuck at 20MHz

Q: Is this a good forum to post this question? Was running various Merlin builds on multiple RT-AC66U. Attempting to get functional QoS, RMerlin suggested Tomato Shibby. Now, QoS is excellent but 5Ghz band stuck at 20MHz Channel Width and 288.5 Mbps Rate most of the time. There is a video that...

RT-AC66U - Script for separate VLANS and Subnets with DHCP

Thank you for the suggestion. I bit the bullet and installed Tomato Shibby. The QoS support is excellent. There are other configuration caveats that make me sad to leave, but no argument with the QoS support. Feature request: Config file in text format so that settings can be matched easily...

RT-AC66U - Script for separate VLANS and Subnets with DHCP

Any comment on the Bandwidth clamping to the lower limit? Is this also normal? Unexpected? Or no opinion? Also, the comment says that 0 (zero) means no limit but you can't actually enter 0 (zero).

RT-AC66U - Script for separate VLANS and Subnets with DHCP

Unfortunately, Adaptive QoS is not available on the RT-AC66U.

RT-AC66U - Script for separate VLANS and Subnets with DHCP

RT-AC66U, factory reset after 380.63 installation. Traditional QoS upload/download bandwidth not working. It appears to clamp both upload and download to the lower value. [This also appears to occur with earlier versions.] Speedtest shows 65/11 when QoS off. When Traditional Qos enabled...

Isolated guest wireless with separate DNS (and DHCP)

I'm trying to allow guest wireless access with no access to my intrAnet. I have an Intranet with a Windows DC (Server 2012 R2) and an ASUS RT-AC66U acting as the NAT to the Internet. If I use the Windows DC for DHCP, then I can't enable AP isolation on the guest wireless, as it's unable to...
