    SF250, SG250, SF350, SG350/350X/350XG, SF550X, SG550X/ 550XG, SX350X, SX550X Series Switches up to Software Version 2.5.9.15

I was impressed that they did indeed follow through with another firmware load for the RV34X series routers as well. Though it was released after the end of support date I suspect this was just timing and that the plan was to release alongside the switch firmware load as one last push...

Converting a Cisco Ironport C170 to Opnsense router

@coxhaus - when I was setting up my cisco "Smart Account Licensing" account to purchase and manage the Security licenses for my RV340 I ran into the same issue. In the end, they accepted a gmail address for my "Home Office" domain during the registration. IIRC I needed to submit a TAC request...

New Cisco RV34x Router Upgrade firmware

    That is something at least!

    Firewalla Gold

That is consistent with what little I can find in line as well - that being support is “inconsistent” at best. Neat device but not confidence inspiring. Hope they step up their game.

    Firewalla Gold

OK so in my case then, would I place the Firewalla Gold unit per 1 or 2? ISP Modem -> Firewalla Gold -> RV340 -> SG350X (doing all local routing) -> onwards ISP Modem -> RV340 -> Firewalla Gold -> SG350X -> onwards

To Bridge or not to Bridge

@Tech9 - I am glad I read this; I better understand what you were referring to in my other thread regarding the RV340. So rather than installing a firewall between the ISP Modem (currently bridged) and my RV340 (EOL), you might consider running the ISP modem as a router (I would still not use...

    Firewalla Gold

@coxhaus - Did you ever get any additional information on Firewalla? I am considering adding one between my ISP and my RV340. I am assuming I would then turn off the RV340 firewall and security functions. I am looking at the new (about to ship) Firewalla Gold Plus.

    Next Steps from Cisco RV340

Yes, this I think is my main concern. Not the set up per se but the amount of my time once in place I would need to dedicate to the maintenance .......More thought required.

Not these but similar considerations hence my concern.

    Next Steps from Cisco RV340

OK so interesting discussion. A couple of follow-on questions: @Tech9 – when you say EOL does not mean secure enough – how long will that last? Hypothetical I realize but you are correct, as of 28 Oct I had confidence in my network, do I have reason to be worried now? If not when? @degrub – I...

    Next Steps from Cisco RV340

I can start a new thread if this is too far a stretch but: Thoughts on Unifi from the group? Considering replacing the RX340 with a Dream Machine Special Edition. I am generally considering keeping my current Layer 3 Switch (SG350X) and WAPs (3 x WAP 571 in a cluster) but open to changing...

    Next Steps from Cisco RV340

@Miner - thanks for posting that. I do recall seeing that thread and giving it some thought. Interesting discussion.

Seems there is a new firmware for Cisco Small Business Switches to 2.5.9.15. With EOL last Oct and End of Software Maint 30 Oct 2022, I am glad they continue to support the switches. Wonder if the RV34X Routers will get one more push? Software Download - Cisco Systems

    Next Steps from Cisco RV340

I do not think I will go the Meraki route. From what I can tell, they get pretty pricey with decent throughput. The base models seem to have relatively modest throughput.

    Next Steps from Cisco RV340

@degrub no not really. I will be adding a server which would need to be accessed at some point but not for a bit.
