Issues after upgrading to 386.12_x AC88U

To me it doesn't sound like å failing router... For now stay on 386.11 if that's working ok for you, and monitor the 386.12 thread: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-386-12-is-now-available-for-ac-models.86647/page-18 There are some chatter about wifi hickups there...

Issues after upgrading to 386.12_x AC88U

Sorry if you already tried it, but just trying to help... When you upgrade the firmware, do you have any usb disks or sticks attached to the router? If so try unplugging all usb devices before upgrading. And let them be unplugged until you see if the router can behave normally again. After you...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

That also looks correct. The difference if you enable Apps analysis is that it then breaks down all the detailed use per client, not only the total amount of bandwidth used per client...

CPU Core 1 Spiking 100% GT-AX6000 other cores seems no utilized. Merlin 388.1

One of the cool features of these two, is that it will most likely run on any old computer you have laying around... And most likely manage the job also, even though your requirements are in upper loevel. At least you get to play a little with both of them on almost any retired hw or you can set...

CPU Core 1 Spiking 100% GT-AX6000 other cores seems no utilized. Merlin 388.1

Problably and problably not... Asus routers are packet with a lot of great features, and even more so if you choose to run Asuswrt-Merlin on it. But there is a big but here, these features needs processing power. And the speeds you are talking about, quite a bit more than Asus currently...

Asus router suggestion for >1200Mbps via WAN port (Comcast)

I would have waited a few weeks to see what happens when the AX88 Pro hit the streets... I'd be surprised if Merlin don't end up suporting it. Even though it's not been confirmed yet. It will problably impact the pricing of both the GT AX6000 and the AX88 Pro And just maybe like me, you're not...

    Release ASUS GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525 (20/2/2023)

In the prosess of rebuilding your router/AI Mesh network on the new firmware, did you by any chance load a previously saved backup/config file saved on a older firmware. Or did you type in all the necessary new configuration by hand? And if you performed the hard reset in the firmware, did you...

    Release ASUS GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525 (20/2/2023)

Have I understood you right if you performed a hard reset, and then was able to login and roll back to a previous fw? If so, why did you roll back if the problem was that you was not able to login, or did you experience some other problems also?

V386.4 did some strange things to my RT-AC88U

Maybe needless to say, but just in case... When you factory reset (and remember to tick the Initialize box at the right side), you must do it AFTER you have installed the new fw, and then set up the router manually. You could also try the brand new stock fw, so far there's not been reported...

AC66U shows Internet disconnected but I am connected

Hey again, I guess you are running stock fw 386-46065, and there was absolutely nothing in that fw thread yet, but you should maybe try to report your problems there: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ac66u-b1-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-386-46065-27jan22.77074/

V386.4 did some strange things to my RT-AC88U

I totally agree with you, but i didn't mean to be mean... I just wasn't up for reading it one more time on behalf on another... I vagely remember some chatter about: Asus made changes to the login part Asus made changes to the wireless part which resulted in some trouble for quite a few smart...
